Thirty-Fourth Drop: fallen (actionpost/videopost)
[The camera is jerking and bouncing, thrashing around, until it smashes against a tree and cracks splinter down the screen. A spatter of mud splashes onto the screen...it's hard to see anything.
Sorrow is a white blur, lashing out, shouting, his voice twisted into a war cry as he charges in with his judo and delivers cracking blows once, twice, and then he's off the ground, air blasting out of him with a dull thud of flesh on flesh. His feet thump hard, splashing and kicking and scraping, but the other feet are deliberate, almost calm -- tmp...tmp...scrape...tmp. The white form soars through the air and off screen, landing with a wet splat in the mud.
Something unidentifiable blurs past, unrecognizeable, and there are sounds of grunting and shouting and scuffling. A silenced gun fires twice -- phut phut -- but the struggle shows no signs of ending. A splash, and the gun flies into the device and shatters a piece of glass off the side. A knife follows not long after.
Ping! A loud, ear-piercing sound like shattering glass, and a brilliant blue flash of light that lances out and saturates the view. A sharp hiss, a shout, and then a howl that fades into a voiceless breath -- and then long, dark, telling silence.
After what seems like an eternity, Sorrow drops down in front of the device, first to his knees, then falling over onto his side. Hand over hand, he claws the few weary feet toward the device, staining his white skin shades of brown and gray. His head lolls to the side, as if he's dizzy, and he reaches out but misses and lets his hand sink down in the slushy mud. Slow, easy footsteps drift into the forest, and the silver eyes twist right, left, and slide back toward the screen as they dim, and their lids close over them. He takes a long and shuddering breath...]
Joy...
[And lets it go as he drifts into unconsciousness, his breathing shallow in the speaker.]
