Fifty-First Drop: despair and renewing

Dec 25, 2010 19:33

Penny is gone.

I received her package -- a Celtic knot with the words, ""Remember all ye that existence is pure joy; that all the sorrows are but as shadows; they pass and are done but there is that which remains." How fitting...it is just as it was. Existence is Joy, and Sorrows are but shadows, but in the end, there is that line between life and death, darkness and light, which remains no matter where, when, or in what state one lives.

And even though she leaves for home, she has the afterlife to look forward to. One day, I hope she can return, but at the same time, it is good to leave this city of curses and strife, and go to peaceful sleep.

Especially because she can always return.

I can't sense you from here, but Penny, wherever you are...hopefully one day I'll see you again. You were a mainstay of this place, a helping hand, one who loves and cares and puts their livelihood into the well-being of others. A true friend, and though you despaired over love, you were the sort who is bound to find one, no matter where you are, who will give anything to be with you.

I never saw my son, but you were like a daughter. Good luck, and if you manage to find my presence in your newfound world, come visit me someday.
