well...the barn is about as ready as its going to be! I put tags and name plates on each of the horse's leather halters, duck taped their windows, helped Skip put up the fence on either side of the barn aisles in hopes that they won't get loose if the barn crashes...they'll just head to pasture. *crosses fingers* We put every bucket we could find in each of their stalls, filled all the troughs up, shut the barn doors, locked down, taped down and tarped down(lol) everything that could fly off into the sunset and besides that there is nothing left to do. Mixed feed and supplement bags, have that stuff and the hay all in the tack room where it'll be safe from rain and the like. My grandma is coming over in a bit, hopefully before the winds start picking up. its pretty quiet down here, with everybody lining up at gas stations and people boarding their windows. Oh, joy, its hurricane season...lol This will be doggie's first hurricane...we al wonder what he's going to be like tonight when the winds REALLY start howling. Has everybody been in a hurricane? If you're in a safe house its quite fun! :-) Maria and Laurie are staying the night at the barn, so is Skipper and Alice...skip's grandson and his wife are leaving to head upstate, off the coast. we told laurie and maria to come with us home, cause their mobiles aren't going to make it most likely, but they seemed determined to wait it out and see. Maria is already cracking black humor jokes...she's a funny little Swed. lol whitaker has two tags and a tape with his name, my name, his color, sex, all that stuff. i was tempted to write caramel b/c his coat color is so funky...hopefully we won't need any of that. I wanted to stay with my boys out at the barn, but mom was like, NO WAY! So that plans out the window. She wants us all home and inside by one...so i'm following those exact wishes by sitting at the computer and typing this. I still haven't taken off my shoes. I should take a shower before we get hit. Hopefully our HUGE oak tree thats like a hundred years old doesn't come crashing down on us! yikes. well...hopefully we'll all be seating here tomorrow to write another entry! ha ha
