I can't believe I've forgotten to post these! I was so excited to show you all and then I completely forget to upload and edit them. I guess that's what happens when all your time after work is so crunched.
But without further ado, Samwise and his NEW Tucker trail saddle:
He masquerades as a western cow pony very nicely, I think. It was fun putting all that gear on him and seeing how awesome he looked.
He always demands a hug before bridling...
Because carrying around all that tack is hard work.
Before we could hit the trails, I wanted to test him on the lunge line. The last few times I've ridden him western, he bucked and pronced and generally needed to adjust to all the extra gear. Granted, that was also because the last saddle was a terrible fit, but I wanted to give him a chance. And sure enough, he told me there were some adjustments to be made, namely the fit of the back cinch. Easy fix though...I added a connector to hold the back cinch in it's proper location and Voila! Happy Western Pony!
