Yusuke has been updated to post-canon. What does this mean? Well, I’ll tell you!
First off, and possibly most importantly, he’s older. At the end of the series, Yusuke is eighteen years old. He’s noticeably older, and has matured a good deal. Although, because it’s Yusuke, doesn’t amount to all that much. Mostly he’s just less prone to flying off the handle. The super impulsive choices he makes now? They’re all done with an end game in mind, less mindless rage, more using his head, but with the same amount of flinging himself into situations and hoping for the best. That’s not to say he can’t be provoked into a fight, because he can, but he just employs common sense and critical thinking a little more fluently now.
Secondly, he has made the transformation into Makai demon. If your character can sense whether or not someone’s a demon, have a field day. Also, in Yu Yu Hakusho canon, demons have no heartbeats. Therefore, Yusuke has no heartbeat. If your character is aware of heartbeats, or lack thereof, Yusuke will give you nothing but silence. Yusuke’s not going to be flaunting this information, but he’s not going to be hiding it either. With this transformation comes his demon form, which he will revert to if he’s losing control of his emotions, typically meaning that if he loses all control on his temper, he’ll slide right into his demon form.
Thirdly, there’s Puu. But he gets his own explanatory entry
here.
