Let's do the time warp again!

Omg, don't people watch hospital shows anymore? I was just watching a bit of Who wants to be a Millionaire and the question was, "What blood type is used as universal donor?" - And the woman didn't know it!! I already knew it without seeing the answers. Better: Then, she called a man who used to be a doctor - and he didn't know!! What? o.O I so would have won the 125,000!

Last night, I wrote a bit more for my NaNoWriMo novel. And then I got another cool email from them. Now, I want to talk a bit about writing and fan fiction. :)
I started writing fan fiction 8 years ago. Then, it was only for one show - Poltergeist: The Legacy (kisses for all who remember this *g*). But I didn't write so much, maybe 6-7 fics and that was it. Then I didn't write anything for years, until I discovered primeval100 and I started to write my first drabbles. I always thought that would be very difficult, because I really only write 100 words then, not 101, not 99, always! 100! And I found out that I'm pretty good at it, if I may say so.

Then I also joined supernatural100 and trueblood100 and I lived to write drabbles for each week's challenges. :) Then, spnland came along and I began to write fan fics for Supernatural, which I hadn't done before, I think. And then in the beginning of 2010, I discovered bigbang fics and so far, I've written two and I'm working on a new one right now.

I had also heard of NaNoWriMo before and I was eager to participate, but never really dared, or I didn't have a real plot idea, and I also didn't just want to start with no real idea. Only now, I signed up and I actually started to write - with a real plot!

This idea for the story that I'm writing now for NaNoWriMo, I already had last year when I was reading about something astronomical online and I thought, "Hey, that sounds eery and might fit into a story". And first I wanted to use it as a base for this round at apocabigbang but they're not allowing original fic and I didn't know in which fandom to put it, so I decided to use it as a story for NaNoWriMo.

When I started, I only managed to come up with a short beginning and that was like 125 words. I was already sure that I wouldn't finish the novel. Then, I wrote a bit more last night and have like the first 1,000 words and all of a sudden, it feels doable again. I won't promise myself anything, but it feels good to write a story that comes right from my brain, an original story. I have a plot, not through the whole 50,000 words, yet, but it's a start, and I already invented two main characters. I like it so far. :)

And then I got this cool mail from NaNoWriMo, they amuse me. *g* And about some of what was mentioned in this mail, I just talked with deviltrap about, the other day. Like:

"...if you already have the basic plot idea and the characters and world in your head.

But what if you don't? What if all you have is a plot?

This is where I am going to deviate from practically anyone you have ever heard from, and tell you this: try writing fanfiction."

That's so me! Usually, I have a plot idea really fast (and like all the time) but I don't know how to put this in a real story, so I write - fan fiction! It's an easy and fun way to get a story written with your ideas.

The following I said to deviltrap, too:

"...go have a look at all the Star Trek, Star Wars, and game-based books there are out there. If you reduce things to principles, most of those are fanfiction---fanfiction commissioned by and given the blessing of the publisher, and produced by professionals, yes, but still fanfiction."

I said, too, that I could write that, like all those Supernatural novels that are out there. I could totally do that! But how do I start?

"Let your fanfic flag fly! You’ll be following in the footsteps of a lot of greats, like Marion Zimmer Bradley (who wrote Tolkien fanfic)!"

Who knew, huh? *g*

So, in conclusion - I love writing fan fiction and I would just love to publish my writing one day.

By now, I've written:

+ 7 Poltergeist: The Legacy stories on my own
+ 3 Poltergeist: The Legacy stories that I wrote with deviltrap and another friend online
+ 2 Charmed drabbles
+ 2 Generation Kill drabbles and 1 fic
+ 23 Primeval drabbles
+ 35 Supernatural drabbles and 22 fics
+ 5 The Vampire Diaries fics
+ 1 Supernatural/The Vampire Diaries crossover [bigbang]
+ 22 True Blood drabbles and 2 fics
+ 1 Twilight drabble and 4 fics
+ plus 4 WIP [Generation Kill, The Pacific, original and the NaNoWriMo novel]

I don't want to promote myself here, but they can all be read over here at spirit_junction. Some are in German though, but the most is in English. Btw, is it weird when I say that I prefer writing in English, rather than German? I find English fics easier to read and write. :P

+ Omg! Why did Chibs' wife interfere when Gemma wanted to shoot Jimmy?!?!?! O_O
+ Happy amuses me! :) Juice and him are watching one of the Irish guys:
Juice: *whispers* Where the hell is he going?
Happy: Hey, where the hell are you going? *g*
Irish: Gotta murder a shite. Wanna watch?
Happy: Do you?
Juice: No, I'm good.
Oh boys!
+ Wow, Jax's eyes are blue...

I think I missed some of the plot. o.O So, the Sons made weapon deals with the Irish and interrupted Jimmy's deals or something?? And Jimmy then worked with some Irish SoA who are kinda unloyal to make them pay and he took Abel as leverage...??? How wrong am I?

I am finally catching up on White Collar! There were still some episodes, like 6-7 or so that I hadn't seen after they aired. Now, there are only two left and I'm up to date with the show. Many more are waiting for me... :P

2.05 - Unfinished Business

+ Aw, Neal still can't let go and investigates the plane wreck in which Kate died.
+ "I'm walking into a house with a loaded gun. Please stop me." I loved that line!

2.06 - In the red

+ Guh, shirtless Neal!! :P
+ I love how Neal and Peter do things simultaneously! *g*

2.07 - Prisoner's Dilemma

+ I loved the scene with Peter running from the US Marshall with the guy wo went rogue, Franklin, because he fell in love with a criminal, Rebecca. And they needed to start their get-away cars and Peter calls Neal, while Franklin called Rebecca. So cool!
"I need to hotwire a Lamborghini!" *g*

There's not really much on tv tonight, so I'll continue watching my shows, like The Vampire Diaries and I also want to check out The Walking Dead.

Thank god, I have the weekend off! Tomorrow, I really, really need to clean my room and sort through old clothes and I want/need to organize my books and dvds. That's my Zen. *g* And then tomorrow evening, I'm having dinner with a friend and on Sunday, it's my aunt's birthday and we're going for lunch again. So much of yummy food ahead.

Btw...
I was totally doing Matt Damon in my dream last night! Ha! :P I like! *g*
