Coloring Icon Tutorial-01

Hey everyone, I thought I try something new... for a change...this is my first Icon tutorial,
If this has been done already, I am sorry for re-doing it again.

Using Photoshop cs2

Tutorial 01



1) First take your cropped up image, for me I took from the movie King Arthur


2) Then go to Image>Adjustments>Curves
click anywhere on the line (We are going to be creating two points)and enter as mentioned below for each
RGB                              
Point 1                
Input  96
Ouput  89

Point 2
Input  126
Output  126

RED 
Point 1
Input  39
Ouput  25

Point 2
Input  88
Output  51

GREEN
Point 1
Input  21
Ouput  35

Point 2

Output  94

BLUE

Your image should look like this


3) Duplicate this layer and set this layer to soft light (Blending Mode). Sharpen it once


4) Now you can add text or use any kind of brush, I have used Tiny Text


And then you are done.
