[poem] The Truth As You Hear It

Feb 16, 2007 21:45

You ask a question, curious
As to what I shall answer.
I respond
and you instantly chastise me
For something I did not say.
It is as if words passed from
my mind to Yours, and
I just didn’t know it;
I just didn’t say it.
But the truth is the truth, and
What you hear is otherwise, so
You insert Your own Truth
and that is what you hear.

and you wonder why
I don’t speak the truth anymore.
