Seeking Help.... Graphic Violence depicted, beware...
So I'm disgusted with Humantiy right now. On thursday night I was working at Kinkos when I recieved a phone call from my roomate, who is consequently my boss at my other job. I found out that a family I am very closely associated with had a horrendous event occur. A 17 year old mentally retarded girl was raped by her next door neighbor. He'd been coming over to their house for the last year every now and then to use her cell phone, only this time while the Mom was picking one of her kids up from a busted car he said he couldnt hear over the dogs barking so had her come out front. Then he pulled her by her wrist into his house and blocked her way out.
A mixed blessing is that she has blacked out everything from pants off to pants on, though she still wanted to throw away her pants because she hated them for reasons she cant remember. On one hand that is helpful to her state of mind. On the other there is a jackass detective that has the gall, that when mom explains she has blacked things out after waiting an hour and a half for the detectives to interview her, he asks her "How would you know??!". EXCUSE ME? This woman herself has been a victim, and works with victims as a family advocate!!!!! Where the fuck does he get off?????? There are bite marks and discharge and he can ask "How would you know???". Fuck you. Fuck you very much.
So my company is trying to pay for them to get a rental somewhere else. He has possible gang connections and there is no way anyone in that family can stay in that home ever again. Their safe space is gone. So far weve gotten I beleive around 1500 for deposit and some moving expenses but I'm told we are still 1000 short and they have to leave the hotel they are at by tomorrow afternoon. If anyone is able to donate any money to help before they end up in a homeless shelter it would be much appreciated. We are seeking various programs throughout the valley but so far nothing is panning out, and Mom is already freaking out because she feels like it is 13 years ago and she's a victim on the run again. Any support or links to programs we may be unaware of would be much appreciated.
