Aila: *is sitting at Mamie's watching the sandwich frenzy going on while she nibbles on cheesy fries and sips a soda*
Hugo: *walks in, looking for Aila, but he doesn't spot her just yet*
Aila: *sees Hugo and waves* Hugo! *wavewavewave*
Hugo: Aila! *makes his way over to her table* Long time no see!
Aila: Hi stranger! I've been just hanging around, really. Jacques went back to Caleria for something and I've been in the infirmary with Mathiu trying to cheer him up and stuff. What have you been doing lately? You've been kinda scarce since you beat me at Juan's tournament.
Hugo: Yeah .... well ... *rubs the back of his neck awkwardly and sits down* I don't know how to say this really ... so I'm just going to say it. *takes a deep breath* Stallion asked me to be his lifemate.
Aila: *jawdrops* Get out! Really? *makes sure that she's swallowed her cheesy fries before she starts happily flailing* Oh Hugo, that's wonderful you two are so perfect for one another are you going to have some kind of big ceremony when is it going to be and ooh you know we could decorate it all nicely especially if you're going to have it in the spring and...*pauses to look at Hugo* You did say yes, right?
Hugo: *nods* I did. We have to get permission from ... his village and from Karaya first though.
Aila: Oh, wow. That's gonna be interesting.
Hugo: Aila .... what if ... what happens ... *trails off*
Aila: You think that someone in the village would say no?
Hugo: ... maybe. From what Stallion says, they aren't very big on humans. I don't know what they'd say about us being lifemates.
Aila: You would think after all the wars and all of the destruction, that people, or elves too, should be able to recognize and appreciate it when they see true love happen to people.
Aila: It's hard enough to find, you nkow?
Hugo: I know. *sighs* He caught me completely off guard.
Aila: It's what you want, right? You don't have any second thoughts or anything?
Hugo: *rests his head on the table, still looking at Aila.* What if he decides he wants to have children? I mean, he's explained to me that we can ... bring a woman into our relationship ... but ...
Aila: You can always adopt a child? There's still so many that were orphaned by the war and everything...?
Hugo: *shakes his head and sits back up again* I'd do anything for Stallion. I think I'm just ... in shock, you know?
Aila: I would be too if it happened to me!
Hugo: *smiles* How have things been between you and Jacques?
Aila: They're good - he had to go back to Caleria for something but I'm sure he'll be back soon. I can't wait for the weather to warm back up so we can go north and do more sightseeing.
Hugo: *grins and orders a soda from the waitress*
Hugo: Sightseeing, eh?
Aila: Yeaaaaaah. *giggle!* There's just so much, you know? And I think there's spring festivals there like the winter ones with food and dancing and...*dreamy sigh*
Hugo: *shakes his head, Aila clearly didn't get what he said*
Hugo: I'm surprised you'd be able to do all that, what with Jacques being around and all...well, I guess you could do the dancing! *teasing*
Aila: I could...*the lightbulb goes off in Aila's head and she blushes*
