CHAPTER THREE

A/N: Hooray, Demi finally appears here! 8D You guys happy? xD Comments would be awesome-'cause I feel like I made some of the characters rather OOC in some way or another. And I don't know if this took a while but it sucks when you're on some damned excercise whatever schedule 'cause of your health so... Yeah, enjoy :]

Demi paces around so much that Dallas has to tell her to stop countless times.

“I swear, if you don't sit down or calm down I will make you.” Dallas lets out, groaning. Demi is practically burning a hole into their living room with how much she's been pacing.

“I'm sorry, Dal it's just... oh god, I don't even know.” Demi sounds utterly defeated as she finally plops down onto the couch, headfirst. Dallas sighs, placing down the can of Red Bull before getting up off the armchair and moving to sit next to Demi.

The younger girl sighs before moving to lie on her back instead, before she buries her head in her sister’s stomach, letting Dallas run her fingers through her hair.

“I'm scared.” Demi finally says after some time. Dallas stills her movements, looking down at the girl in her lap who seems to be even smaller with how withdrawn she is.

“Of what, Demi?” Dallas knows better than to push, but she thinks this has gone on long enough.

Demi has been more absent and barely answers any calls ever since she and Joe came out together. Not that Dallas wants to blame the middle Jonas Brother, but she cares about her little sisters well being.

“That I don't love him anymore.”

“And what's that supposed to mean?” Taylor didn't mean for the words to come out harsh, but they did. She knows she may come off as some complete psycho right now for her to just burst out, out of nowhere, and Selena can't help but think that this is just like Taylor to mull over something until it just eats away at her ‘til there's nothing left but doubt.

Alright, so maybe saying that you still care for your ex-best friend and that you'd always love them wasn’t such a good thing after Mister “I-can-break-up-with-the-greatest-thing-since-sliced-bread-over-the-phone-for-27-seconds” appears, begs for help and has your girlfriend all tense.

“Taylor, Demi is still my friend,” Selena misses the curt bullshit that escapes the taller girl’s lips, “okay; maybe she hasn’t been a friend, but Taylor,”

“I get it. You wanna help her. It’s what you do, Sel, you help people.” Taylor drops the cookie in her hand back in the jar, seemingly losing her appetite.

“Taylor, please, what's going on? After Joe left you’ve been avoiding anything to do with me helping Demi. What's wrong?”

“... I don't know. It's just... Demi's suddenly back in the picture and... I'm still kind of afraid sometimes that I'm just a replacement, a sit in for her.”

Selena felt like she had been slapped in the face with Taylor's comment. She doesn’t even try to hide the hurt that obvious in her features.

“Taylor, how can you say that?” the blonde doesn’t talk. She just stands there, left to be scrutinized by Selena's intense stare.

Taylor knows it's stupid to think that she could have kept Selena forever. She knew one day that Demi Lovato would come back into her life some way or another; she just didn't think it would be this soon.

“So... you still love her?” Dallas didn't need to make herself clear for Demi to know exactly who the older girl was talking about.

Of course Demi Lovato still loved her best friend. But so much has changed between them that she's not sure their relationship can be saved.

“... I don't know.” Those were the first words Demi had uttered after she had cried off all her frustrations to her big sister.

“I don't fucking know, Dallas and that's that pisses me off!”

Something always felt different for Demi. She thinks it's because Selena was just her best friend and Joe's her boyfriend. Of course, maybe that was it.

But no.

She always felt something with Selena that she never did with Joe. It's like... her entire body was on fire.

“Demi,”

“I'm scared, Dallas. I'm just so scared.”

A/N: So... it may seem that Demi is still somewhat hetero-though not so much. AHA! Yeah, I'm gonna start getting into the part where Joe and Selena start planning for Joe to “woo” his girl back... or something.
