Getting it out of my System: Annie Mae

Once upon a time I was in love with a series called Fruits Basket. Perhaps you have heard of it. I wrote a fanfic for it called Cat of the Zodiac: Kyou Sohma. In it are some truly horrible abuses. They include: rapefic without warnings, completely out-of-character moments, references to children's television, pointless use of romanized japanese words, foeyay/gay. I ended up writing thirty-five thousand words of it. I always wanted to finish it, but I don't care about it enough for that to ever happen.

This is how it was supposed to end, the curse is cured. Yuki and Kyou fall in love and get married and are 2gether4ever. Tohru saved them all with a selfless sacrifice that kind of left her as an indentured companion to Akito, but that's ok cause they fell in love, and then through the magic of science were able to fuse their eggs and stimulate cell divison. Akito gestated the baby, but it left her all weak and sickly, so she died. Tohru was sad, so she died. So Yuki and Kyou stole were made caretakers of the unfortunately mosaic-disordered baby girl (Kyoko, like her grandmother). Then there was an epilogue friendship story between Kyoko and her Auntie Uo.

Anyway, drawing anime-style is such an unpleasant thing. Nothing looks right. They should really be much more long and lean and adult looking. Also anime eyes are stupid, and those ski-dive noses, also stupid. As I was drawing this last night Josh Lesnick tweeted:

You can never escape anime #

I really hope that's not true.

So goodbye forever to love the that dare not speak it's name between male cousins cursed with a body dysmorphic sexual dysfunction.

anime, fanart, mindful self indulgence, my fic
