Beyond Victoriana panel was the best ever! Made me soo excited about art and steampunk and cultural exchange and learning to PLAY!
I really don't play enough I have come to understand, I have to remedy this.
Then I went shopping!
Now remember Tea and Absinthe. Oops i forgot to tell you that they had a free Absinthe tasting the night before during which I sampled Mansinthe, a swedish blue absinthe, and a third one that came in a rectangular green bottle. I like Absinthe.
Well I briefly considered buying a fountain so that I could louche Absinthe at home (they were only $60) but then I considered it too much of a luxury and awkward to carry home so Instead I bought 2 balls of flowering tea (without the silly glass pot) and the best truffles I have ever had in my life! first I bought a violet truffle and a red rose. I shared both with Kristen and she shared the red rose with Brad.
After that I found a gorgeous headband. I also bought some sinew for sewing the scrap leather I got from craft night.
Then I thought, I need to buy something for Amber, so I went and bout a necklace I had seen in the shop where I bought the head band. Now I say shops, because the vendors all had first floor hotel rooms. They pushed beds up against walls and spread out their wares on beds and dressers. It was really odd, but interesting since each vendor had their own separate space where the shoppers wouldn't be attracted by another vendor's wares. However, the space was very tight.
I went back to the shop to buy a necklace that matched my headband, intended for Amber, but decided to keep it when I discovered it was one of a kind. Instead, I went back to the Tea and Absinthe to buy her some truffles. I bought the last display violet for myself and then a white and red rose for Amber, but then when Daniel expounded on the delicate flavor contrast between white and red I had to get another white for me. Kristen, Brad, and I shared the white and it was heavenly. So much so that Kristen and I are thinking about planning a whole meet-up just about eating these truffles.
And Finally the Mad Science Fair! I think I'll let these pictures speak for themselves.
Conclusion, I am going again next year.
