fretfully sighing-wishfully,
as sugar-coated eyelids close
over leaking blue eyes,
eyelashes a dam to tears.

broken-hands, hearts, and heads.
hide these bleeding hands
behind her back, guilty.
hide all flaws-loveless things.

flutters-almost heartbeats,
jangle against protruding ribs.
caged birds, almost lifeless,
rustling weakly to escape.

wild, snarled and twisted hair,
curls over hooded and dark eyes,
masking tears and broken lips.
so empty-so lost.
