Thanks for viewing my paintings and giving such a high compliment. That's very nice to hear. It makes me glad I posted this painting, which was from last month.

I can't imagine what it must feel like to have to contend with those who not only are unable to understand your art, but also those who just have no desire to. I've never felt squeamish over what you do, as it is an artform that's been done for so many centuries. I'm very proud of the fact that you, alongside other women (i hope to do the same in the future), are reclaiming this primitive style. It's finding roots.

It has been done for centuries? I'd love to see any info on this, as I have not heard of earlier menstrual blood art.
I agree, though, this painting is superb, despite the silly title. :)

Hi, I've been hearing about your live journal for a while but only just brought myself to look at it. Your work is much more meaningful than I expected and I really do consider it to be art like all your other fans, but I didn't expect to. I'm still a little grossed out by the idea, but that's probably because I'm too young to be comfortable with menstruation. I do think that you are a heroine for trying to break the taboo that surrounds women and their menstrual cycles. I hate the way people (mostly men) consider a woman's period as something to be ashamed of. Nobody seems to want to understand it or talk about it like the natural process it is. I look forward to the time when our society is no longer so disgusted by menstruation and forced to keep it a secret. I admire you for being a crucial part of that change in society and sharing your work with us.
Thank you,
Elle

I appreciate your comment Elle. Thanks for writing your viewpoint. Yes, it's not what others think or want you to think about menstruation and menstrual blood that matters. What's most important is what you feel about it and yourself. That, like most things in life, has a way of changing with experience and time.

May I have permission to quote you?
