Character(s): Piyomon and Gabumon
Location: Digital World
Time: Afternoon, right after Taichi and Mimi begin arguing after arriving in the Digital World
Summary: Two good friends are reunited. Gabumon, upset by the argument taking place between TAichi and Mimi, walked off a ways, so Piyomon pursues and tries to cheer him up. Much cuteness and changing of face coloration.
At the ongoing argument, Gabumon slumped off a ways. Frowning, he stared at his feet and sighed. Really, this was all he could do. How to stop them arguing when he still didn't understand? Sighing, he poked a random flower with a paw.
Although the long, tedious period of preening had ended when Piyomon had heard first heard Gabumon’s voice, she had found her talons stuck to the grass. It wasn’t until the arguing betwixt the Chosen began that the pink bird Digimon found her voice, only she wasn’t quite sure how to use it. Gabumon was walking in the opposite direction whilst the Chosen were bickering amongst themselves.
Blue eyes flickering, Piyomon looked between Mimi, Taichi, and Sora for a moment, then made up her mind. A little hop and she was airborne, hovering just barely over the grass as she approached Gabumon. She noticed him poke the flower, but was unable to hide her concern when she spoke.
“Gabumon…?” The bird Digmon landed a few paws behind him, a little hesitant to approach.
Jerking around to look at her, Gabumon smiled happily. "Hi Piyomon! It's been so long!" He squeaked out, trying to force the emotions of disappointment away by seeing a friend whom he hadn't caught up with in so long. "I'm so glad to see you again!"
For some reason, Piyomon couldn’t help but smile and, before she quite knew what she was doing, moved in for a hug…a little quickly, at that. “Too, too long! Piyomon is happy to see Gabumon, too!”
Of course, she pretended that her cheeks didn't feel warm. Warm cheeks usually meant someone was blushing...
Gabumon smiled at the hug and returned it eagerly, squeezing gently. "How have things been going for you and Sora? Good, I hope!"
Piyomon beamed cheerily, detaching from her friend. Hesitantly. She wasn’t sure why. Was it possible for a hug to last too long?
“Very well!” She chirped, tilting her head slightly. “And for Gabumon and Yamato? Piyomon hopes things have been going well…”
Gabumon was about to reply in the same tone but it dropped as he lowered his head. "It was.... it's been okay. Yamato has been really.. busy with his music and all that." He smiled a little. "But we're doing okay."
It would have been very easy to just let it go, but Piyomon was hesitant. Gabumon clearly wasn’t okay and she didn’t think that playing pretend would be very helpful either. Taking a step forward, she lifted a wing and gently attempted to lift his chin so that she could see his eyes.
“Gabumon knows he can talk to Piyomon…right?” Her concern was rather evident, more so than she had meant it to be. “Piyomon…doesn’t like it when Gabumon is unhappy.”
Blinking slowly, Gabumon tilted his head, similar to a confused puppy. "Piyomon... thank you." He smiled widely, showing the pearly white canines that protruded from his maw. "I'm just worried that Yamato is so upset that he won't get better for a long time... and there's nothing I can do to help him this time."
“Yamato?” Piyomon smiled slightly, taking her fellow digimon’s words into consideration, “If anyone can help Yamato Gabumon can! Gabumon is one of the best Digimon Piyomon knows! He is kind and strong, but also very loyal. Piyomon knows this.”
Piyomon nodded, beaming. Unfortunately, the blush had increased in volume before it began receding. “Yamato will be fine as long as Gabumon is with him!”
Gabumon blushed a bit, scratching the back of his head nervously. "Ah, thank you Piyomon! I'll keep trying my best for Yamato!"
The bird Digimon gave her wings a slight flap. She glanced back at the group and shook her head. They were still arguing, apparently. Turning her eyes back to Gabumon, she perked up and smiled.
“What should we do?” Piyomon asked.
Gabumon frowned once more. "I don't know... The only one I ever know how to handle is Yamato... I suppose we let them yell it out?" He was missing Yamato more by the minute, hugging himself with his pelt covered arms. "Do you think it's a good decision?"
“Maybe.” Piyomon replied, her smile falling a bit upon seeing Gabumon’s frown. “I guess all we can do is wait, but…Piyomon doesn’t mind!” She stepped forward and wrapped her wings around Gabumon, hugging him again. “Piyomon is happy right where she is!”
Gabumon blushe at the second hug but returned it either way. "So am I, Piyomon!!" Even though the argument was on his Chosen, he felt better knowing he had a friend there with him.
