And God said, separate from the flesh
too, she is who is the Mother Reborn and
he who is the Receiver of Wisdom.

Henry had long since been "removed from the flesh", but now he had the proper markings. The annointment. The task was complete.

Mother will return now. Mom, come back. Mom, mom, mom.

Walter could hear the little boy crying somewhere, and whirled around, looking for him. Nowhere. He wasn't here. So why that constant wailing? Why that noise?

No, the whimpering was Henry, wasn't it? The tears were on his face, and a few unintelligble phrases left his lips before his eyes slid shut.

You're mine now, Henry, and when everything's right, you'll come Home again. With us. Forever.

Walter resisted the urge to reach down and trace the numbers. Let them heal first -- there would be plenty of time to marvel at his own handiwork later.

The smell of blood was thick in the room. Walter reached down, sticking his hand in the blood pooling alongside Henry's still body. He pulled it out of the warm liquid and walked slowly away from the bed. He was careful which hand he used on the doorknob -- he didn't want to waste Henry's blood for anything other than what he'd taken it for.

A signature parting.

"This is my work. I did this. This man belongs to me in both body and spirit. Flesh and form. Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine."

A handprint on the wall was all Walter left of his presence in the room. A handprint and an ambience.

Malevolence.

Something happened here. The bleeding man slowly losing consciousness on the table was a testament.

Walter would be back to clean up later. Back to retrieve his final trophy.

Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine.
