More and more, each night and evening of wandering was paying off. Corinthian was never one to sit around in front of a computer screen, he'd rather explore and figure the place out. Each walking session he found small clues, pieces.. but never a core, or a blunt answer for these little mysteries.. mostly they were discarded as coincidence, or trivial. He did tend to have a knack for solving riddles, but this.. was way too much for one little nightmare and his raven companion. Whatever it was involved everyone.
That familiar sound of walking on moss, grass, stone.. the night air. Him and Matthew certainly functioned better at night. On a couple occations, they could even see a few stars. Or maybe it was just.. wishful thinking.
"I miss the Cygnus.." he muttered.
{Cygnus, boss? the swan?} Matthew flew not too far ahead. Enough to hear his companion's quiet voice.
"Have you ever seen him? he's marvelous. Bit of a troubled creature. That must be the tragedy of beauty."
{.... whaaatever, man. Whatever.}
Corinthian rememebered the spot where rats usually gathered.. near the alleyway, of course. Unused trash cans held many families of rats. Matthew loved to scare them out and pick out the youngest ones. Most likely, the younger ones wouldn't carry a plague. He rested against the wall, smiling at Matthew's slight cursing as he pursued the rats down the dark alley.
