That's a good question. What did it mean?
Miles didn't need to turn around and look to know that Phoenix was staring at him. And so he was afraid to turn around and face him again, hand lightly on the door knob. It was tempting, so tempting, to just walk out, to run away from everything. It was the easy way out, but it was the one most comfortable.
Being confusing was just something he was used to. It was a hard habit to break, but that might be why he was feeling frustrated that Phoenix asked him these questions. And.. why he was getting annoyed that Phoenix couldn't understand him. He wasn't making it easy for him, and he was only partually aware of that.
A sigh escaped him, before he turned enough to allow a glance at Phoenix over his shoulder. "You should already know the answer to that. Unless.. you forgot what you said to me last night."
He took a sip on his tea, even if it tasted terrible and was cheap and not brewed like his tea because god his throat went totally dry and he needed something.
"I.. didn't think it would mean anything to you. Because, you're not.." He trailed off, unable to actually think of how to finish that. That's all he needed now: accusations from Phoenix of Miles turning him gay.

"..You do?" He murmured, glancing back to Phoenix with a look of confusion. How anyone could like him, Miles had no idea. Regardless, it felt like a huge burden was lifted off his shoulders.
"For lack of better words to say right now.." He felt oddly sheepish, and turned his face to the side, although he shifted his eyes to watch Phoenix. "..I like you, too."

"Yeah, I do. Jeez, didn't you know that, just from last night?" Phoenix smiled a little, suddenly pulling an arm around Miles' waist from the back.
...Yeah, he was definitely just as warm and good-smelling as before.

"Forgive me. I'm only used to having people condemn my existence." He replied, typical tone a twinge sarcastic.

"I don't think you have to worry about me doing that," he answered with a grin. "At least not right now. We'll worry about it later, when you're back to pissing me off in court."

"Me? Tch, I'd never do such a thing." He glanced down at his cup, giving it a slow deliberate swirl. A smirk creeped across his face, although he didn't raise his eyes to look at Phoenix, and just leaned back against the door.
"It's not my fault you get overly passionate about your flawed logic." He waggled a finger at him, taking another sip of tea.

His free hand reached up and lightly grasped the wrist of the hand that secured his chin, gently pulling it down. Once his head was relatively freed, he nudged his nose against Phoenix's, regarding him directly with half opened eyes of total smugness. Almost daring him.
"Of course." He stated casually, as if totally unphased by the fact that they were inches apart. "If it wasn't, it would not be so effortless for me to rip it apart every time."

The gentle kiss was welcomed, although he smiled against Phoenix's mouth and made a sound of protest, trying to pull away, like he wanted to add more to that last statement. Or maybe he wanted to put his tea down.

"Sorry," he said quickly, taking a shaky step back, letting go of the tea while he did.

"Ahh, see, then it is your memory which has failed you." Once he stood up again, he pulled Phoenix back to him. "You lack confidence in yourself." And now, to keep him from saying anything, Miles kissed him a tad bit forcefully.

Tilting his head to the side slowly, he deepened the kiss, although he lightened up a little on the actual pressure on Phoenix's mouth. No sense in suffocating him.

It was kind of funny, Phoenix thought, that he was questioning this now, of all times.
He made a soft noise into Miles' mouth, instantly feeling stupid for having done it. Damn it. He was going to have to learn some self-control if he wanted to stay with Edgeworth and not feel stupid after every single encounter. No doubt Miles would make fun of him later, in that way of his.
His hands let go of the man's shirt, instead pulling him in closer.
