The response to Yuuko wasn't even sent out. She grabbed the directions, scribbled quickly onto a piece of paper, and ran out the door. The water had receeded, so there was no need to wait.
She ran. She ran as fast as she could.
Lana Skye didn't need an escort. She was trained to be an officer, and had taken down men twice her size in the past, as well as kicked down barrels full of water without breaking a sweat. Knowing how to bring down bad guys without the use of a gun (although they were helpful occasionally) didn't make one fear the dark, or going out alone.
She did fear one thing, and that was the safety of her sister. It wasn't that she didn't trust anyone: Ema was the only family she had left, and she would not rest until she saw her again.
But what could she do? It wasn't like she could lock Ema away forever while they were here. The thoughts that plagued her mind (for certainly this place was going to drive her insane while she was here), the former chief ran and ran and ran, worry and fear propelling her until the tea shop came into view.
And then she had to stop, taking a breather from her sprinting, although she managed to knock twice on the door before leaning against the doorframe in an attempt to breathe.
