Mewtwo's eyes snapped open. How had he managed to fall asleep? He had far too much to do, Nidoqueen was pregnant again, humans had been hanging around the canyon ever since he had made a trip back to the mount-
Wait. This was not Mt. Quena. This was an alley. What in the Creator's name was he doing in an alley?
The pokemon pulled himself up out of the mock-lotus position he tended to sleep in. He winced slightly. His legs were asleep. How long had he been out, anyway? Once he felt stable enough to walk, Mewtwo crossed to the opening of the alley, to have a look out at the main road.
It looked deserted. There were a few half-hearted street lamps sputtering on, but no people. No pokemon. No moon. Mewtwo cast another look up and down the street, then hesitantly let out a very low frequency psywave to scan the area. No pokemon at all.
