There was a cry from the darkness.
Hitsugaya Toshirou, Captain of the Tenth Division of the Soul Society, turned towards the sound in shock. He knew that gentle voice, that cry, all too well. And anytime he heard it, his blood ran as cold as his icy demeanor.
"Hinamori!" With a single graceful move, he drew the sword from his back and charged headfirst, essentially to the rescue. It had to be a trap from Ichimaru or Aizen. Hitsugaya knew this. But even if it was, if Hinamori was in danger...
If either one of them hurt her...
He didn't care what it took. He would take. them. down.
As he ran, however, he found his feet falling upon stairs. Odd. But it was best to stay on guard. With Hyōrinmaru still drawn, he scanned the area. It was a still-descending spiral staircase. The white haired boy eased down the steps, keeping aware of his surroundings. Upon approaching what looked like the exit, he shifted himself to press his back up against the wall, trying to gain the element of surprise. After a mental count of three, he rushed out, anticipating one of the traitors awaiting his arrival.
He saw neither.
"Hinamori?" The tenth captain called, glancing around. "Hinamori!"
Had he been tricked into thinking she was in danger? How foolishly childish. The thought angered him, as he continued to survey the area before him.
