Well, whoever it was would be highly disappointed. Koushiro was an expert at what he did, and certainly he would locate whatever was being hidden from him.
Just a few more clicks and...
Mimi's scream startled him so much that he jerked upright, nearly falling backwards off his chair. How could he have forgotten her? In a flurry, he was on his feet, turning quickly for the door, having abandoned his research to see what the problem was.
"Mimi-san!"
Mimi, from what he saw, was fine.
However, the sudden sensation of something lingering just over his throat made any further words die instantly. His dark eyes widened as a hand gingerly reached upwards, feeling the smooth object that rested there. A moment's hesitation before he gripped at it with both hands and pulled as hard as he could, clenching his teeth with effort. Koushiro could feel panic welling in his throat, tightening and making it harder to breathe.
It wasn't coming off. Why wasn't it coming off?

"Evil...ring..." Mimi realized, covering her mouth with her hands. "Masaka..."
The Digimon Kaizer?! HERE?! But Ichijouji-kun never made evil rings for people...it had to be just a coincidence. But even if it was, certainly that ring was no good. But there was no way it could control people...right?
"Koushiro-kun!" The pinkette's lip trembled, and she aided him in trying to pull it off. It wasn't coming off. WHY WASN'T IT COMING OFF?!
Where were Palmon and Tentomon when they needed them?! Mimi's eyes welled with tears. The ring grew hot under her hands only, but she held on tightly, almost hysterical. Not her friend. Please...not Koushiro...

"Mimi-san.." He spoke after a moment, eyebrows slanting into a concerned expression. "...Please... stop doing that.." Gently, he reached up and grabbed her desperate hands from around his neck, knowing that it wouldn't do any good to try to pry it off.
Holding her by her wrists, Koushiro met her eyes for a moment, finding it harder to remain calm outwardly with such a simple action.
"It will be alright..." Or so he hoped. He needed to find Taichi. He would know what to do. He let go of her and stepped back to the computer, typing quickly once more.
Mimi might recognize an email being typed up.

It wasn't fair.
When Koushiro met her eyes, tears started streaming down her cheeks. Despite his reassurance that everything would be ok, she couldn't believe it. Without the digimon, how could they get these collars off? Mimi knew of no other way...what if there wasn't one?!
Mimi's eyes trailed off to the side, avoiding his gaze. But that meant her eyes fell on the computer screen. And a certain email.
"Are you..." She began, then looked back to Koushiro, "are you running away?!"
Mimi started to get worked up again and tried to pry her wrists from Koushiro. But that was about to prove to be unsuccessful. Because a video popped up on one of the computers before them. Of you guessed it. The Digimon Kaizer.
I'm in a bad mood today. So I want you. To hurt her. And toss her to that unsavory blonde. Then report to my base.
The picture phased out, and Mimi looked to Koushiro. There's no way. NO WAY the rings could be powerful enough to make him hurt her...
"Koushiro-kun..."

Nii finished entering the codes for one last program before turning his attention to the television screen. The girl seemed desperate to get that black collar off, and the boy seemed resigned. Now why was that?
No doubt, he'd find out in a few minutes. Provided that he didn't hunt down the third kid who somehow got through his computer networks to send that video. This is the second time this happened without him noticing it, and his programming wasn't that sloppy --
...second?
Nii checked his computer for the network's registry, knowing that the girl's tendency to be vocal would alert him to any changes in that room. He frowned, seeing that there were absolutely no traces of hacking. Not then, and not now.
This was an interesting problem. He'd have to transfer all his records to paper and delete the electronic copies if he didn't want anyone knowing of his experiments' exact procedures. Nii scratched his head and went over this week's checklist. No, all done.
Tomorrow was a busy day, it seemed.

His eyes widened, forcing himself a step backwards. The feeling of his body reacting to things beyond his control was overwhelming, and he clenched his eyes shut in trying to fight it. In doing so, he released his grip on Mimi's wrists and gripped at the sides of his head.
"Mimi-san... please... run.." He struggled out through his teeth, before his eyes opened again, now glowing bright red.

As Koushiro stepped back, Mimi stepped forward, her concern for her friend being far greater than the concern for herself. Even if that was a foolish move.
Koushiro looked like he was in pain. Did the evil rings hurt? Could Ichijouji-kun send pain through them? Mimi had no idea, but the thought made her blood boil.
At his insistence that she run, the pinkette cried out, "I won't just leave you! Koushiro-kun..."
When he looked up, and his eyes were glowing red like the digimon's always did, a gasp escaped her lips. But even if she was about to get injured...she couldn't just willingly run from her friend. Besides, she couldn't believe that even under control Koushiro would ever harm her...Mimi couldn't wrap her brain around that concept.

None of those words came out. None of those thoughts or concerns even formed on his tongue. Instead he stood there, silent for a second or two, watching her with glowing red eyes.
"And to think.. I gave you a head start, and you wasted it.." A smirk formed, rather dark, almost as foreign to him as hearing his own voice sound so hateful. Helplessly, he felt his body move as he walked towards her, reacting without his input.
And he couldn't stop himself. Especially not after he grabbed her again, distance closed by her stepping towards him, and pushed her backwards.

That voice...it was so cold. So unlike her friend's real voice...it sent a shiver down her spine. Was this really happening?
Upon being grabbed, she winced. "Koushiro-kun, you're hurting me!" The pinkette cried, hoping he would wake up. Maybe she would wake up, and this would all be a nightmare.
Being pushed backwards snapped her into reality. It was starting to get scary. The panic was evident in Mimi's voice,
"Koushiro-kun stop this! Wake up! Please, Koushiro-kun...you can fight it!"
Being slammed into the wall was his response. A cry of pain escaped her lips, and she found herself on her knees, bad ankle throbbing from the fall.
As she looked up, she felt helpless. Why couldn't she get through to him?

But he'd never been one to back out on his friends. He couldn't wait for Taichi, either. He'd have some choice words for the other boy later, undoubtedly, but for now the only thing he could do was try and find Mimi and get her away from Koushiro until he got that black thing off. Hopefully he wouldn't be too late.
He had gotten the coordinates from the email, thankfully. He wasn't entirely sure of where he was going, but he'd have to try anyway. He raced out of the building and down the street. He knew they were near a school, and that was....nowhere near here. Fantastic.
He paused for a minute, deciding which way to go. That was when he noticed the cloaked figure standing nearby. He didn't like it on sight and started to pray that he could win in a fist fight.
The figure, however, made no move to stop him. It made a small keening noise and waved it's arm. A door appeared to the side of it, and it pointed on gloved finger toward it. Yamato looked at the door, then back to the figure. Was this thing...was this thing actually helping him? Or was it some kind of trap?
The figure stood there, unmoving, waiting for his decision. He realized that his hesitation sure as hell wasn't helping anyone, and he wasn't getting any closer just standing here.
He walked up to the door and opened it. It almost felt like going into the Digital World had always felt, like a pull around him as the scenery changed. He heard the door close behind him, and he emerged on a different street than the one he'd started on. He looked around, and....there. In the distance, he could see what appeared to be a school.
Hang on, Mimi-chan, I'm coming.
He ran toward the school, wishing that Gabumon was with him. He had the feeling he could use the Digimon's help. But for now, he'd just have to go it alone.
"MIMI!" he called. Where was she?
He turned a corner, drawing closer to the school, and finally he saw them. It actually looked like Koushiro was...attacking her? He knew the Black Spirals were bad news, he knew that, but it was still kind of like a shock to the system to see this.
He didn't stop running toward them. "Koushiro-kun, stop!" he yelled as he ran.
[[OOC: I read the log, and I hope I'm jumping in in a way that actually works for you guys. I kind of failed, but I tried. ;O;]]

He watched Koushiro push Mimi with clinical detachment, wondering when the strangling would begin. In some distant corner of his mind, he wondered if Kougaiji was having fun being beaten to the ground by...
Oh, yes. Kouryuu-kun's group was here. He'd have to bother them later on.
Another loud bang echoed and crackled in the speakers, and Nii smirked when another player came to the scene. So there were more people from their world, hmm..? Were all of them this young?
Well, children were usually trusted. Maybe he could send a few spiders of his to tag along.

Ichijouji-kun was serious. So serious, it was frightening. He never felt so helpless before, even as he felt himself stand over Mimi.
Why wasn't she running? Why was she just sitting there? He was going to hurt her and he couldn't stop himself.
"No, he can't." The red-haired boy mused, raising his hand to strike her once more.. until Yamato's voice made him pause. His red eyes narrowed faintly, and he glanced over at the blonde as he approached, called to him.
Again, Koushiro wanted to yell at him, but his mouth refused to work. Instead, he sneered.
"About time you showed up."

What to do? 'Koushiro's' voice sent goosebumps up her arms in the not fun way. She felt tears well in her eyes and tried to get to her feet. Which is when a very familiar blonde rushed the scene.
"Ya-Yamato-kun!!" Mimi cried, a mixture of emotions running through her voice. Her other childhood friend could help. It was Yamato after all. And both he and Taichi could always figure something out.
"Koushiro-kun, please...snap out of this!" The pinkette was almost completely on her feet, save favoring her weak ankle. She looked between the two boys. What should she do?
