A puppet with no master, strings severed after his death. No, creatures with no souls cannot die: they just cease to exist.

Dark Link opened his glowing red eyes and glanced around hesitantly at first. He wasn't accustomed to acting on his own will, and raised his arm to stare at it curiously.

It was his arm. His solidified shadowy arm. If he had a face, he'd probably look confused.

That lasted all but a few seconds, as something started summoning him. He didn't even question it, and simply moved towards it. It was like master, but different.

Arioch could feel the traces of something that had created this new...arrival. Well, it was certainly something he could replace. Something he could use to his advantage. Chaos had no moral code to stand by.

"Wouldn't you enjoy a purpose once more, shadow?" he asked without speaking. Shadows needed no words. "A form, a being, a state of living? This time, there shall be no cold death at the hands of magic and steel."

His words, even without being spoken, were undeniably beautiful. They were everything Chaos had to offer and more. Illusions on top of lies on top of the cold, hard truth. Beautiful.

Dark Link stood there motionlessly. He was really at a lack of what to do to anything, since he had no will of his own. He was just empty right now.

The concept of a purpose would be wonderful, and so he stays there listening.

"Answer to Chaos. Fulfill our purpose and you shall find your own." The words were vague, but they would suffice, as far as Arioch was concerned.

He moved the stuff of Chaos through the world and around the formless, purposeless being, forming it from flashes of memories he found attached to this particular creation. It was not the easiest task he could have performed, but at least it would be fruitful. He was certain of it.

"This form shall help you accomplish your purpose."

[[OOC: I DO NOT MEAN TO GODMODE, but I could think of no other way. Congrats, Dark Link, you now have a body. Lolz.]]

((ooc: LOL, it's ok.))

Dark Link's actual memories were minimal, but they were mostly of his other self. The strange feeling around him confused him, which only intensified to something equivalent to pain. The shadow suddenly filled in, replacing simple magic with flesh and bone, and suddenly there were lungs and he had to breathe.

A surprised sound escaped him, and he teetered forward, coughing a few times. The man now looked like Link, if he were know, but with pale skin and black clothes, as well as red eyes. The realization that he was in control of an actual body sunk in quickly. Thoughts. He could think. He could..

Hesitantly, he glanced over at Arioch, thoughtfully. He understood, or at least most of it. Link must have killed his master, that was why he was here. His master no longer existed. But if Link was here.. he would have to die.

Without a word, as he wasn't used to speaking anyway, he knelt down before Arioch in silent acceptance, face towards the ground.

Arioch materialized in his favored beautiful youth form. He had forgone the fiery skin and hair, settling just for something a little more normal.

He smiled a little. "Ah, how wonderful. I am sure that Chaos will find greatness within you. I leave you to your own devices until further notice."

Dark Link blinked a bit, rather slowly, at the man who formed in front of him. Facial expressions would have to come later. He was still confused at what happened, having to pay attention to so much more now.

He nodded his head, understanding in his dismissal, and turned to leave. Where he would go, he wasn't sure, but at least he knew one thing.

He could sense his other here.

Arioch waved a hand, almost absently, and opened a door for the shadow being.

"I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for through that door," he said, fading back into the darkness that he had presumably come from.
