Shoving his chair back, Kakashi got up and quickly left room. Once outside he started sprinting, leaping onto rooftops. He prayed the city would let him get back to the tenements, and not jerk him around.

However, the city had different plans. After about ten minutes of running, Kakashi was standing on a roof top overlooking the Church. Kakashi quietly snarled and resisted the childish urge to flick the building off.

He took off again, but was brought back to the Church again. There was a mocking aura about the building, and Kakashi swore he heard laughter.

He stood there a moment, shaking with worry, frustration and fury. He could try a transportation jutsu; last time he tried that, he was jerked to several parts of the city, which used up a lot of his charka, but he had gotten there by the end.

Quickly, he ran through the familiar seals, and quickly transported to another part of the city. It wasn’t the right part, but Kakashi was expecting that. Just as soon as he had rematerialized, the city jerked him somewhere else, and he felt the drain on his charka. Kakashi closed his eyes, and waited for the next jump.

By the fifth jump, Kakashi was starting to get worried. It was a serious drain on his energy, and would the city keep on doing it until he ran out and died? Kakashi stood stock still, and then blinked. He wasn’t moving, the city had stopped. Opening his eyes he saw the tenements, sagged in relief and exhaustion, his charka levels were really low, but he’d deal with that later.

Quickly, he leapt across to the other building, landing on the correct window sill. Rapidly, he disabled the trap, and then let himself in.

Kakashi ran past the beds and into the other room. Haku was there, curled up in a chair, staring at computer. The screen was shattered and impaled with icicles.

“Haku?” Kakashi whispered, as he strode across the room.

hatake kakashi, haku
