Kakashi was trying to count the time he had been away from Kohona. He was disturbed to find that he couldn’t remember. The days in the City blended and merged, making it hard to keep track of them. He figured that he had been stuck here for at least four months, no more than six, but he couldn’t figure out anything more specific.
Sighing, he stared out into the grey city, thinking back to Hinata and his conversation on the network. The Hyuuga girl had mentioned that they had been looking for him, Sakura, and all the others that were stuck in the city. It worried him. He wanted to go back to Kohona, they needed him. Kakashi shook his head, as an overwhelming wave of homesickness rushed over him. He wanted to go back. He missed the trees, the sun, and most of all the people.
Kakashi turned from the window, disgusted by the view it gave him, and sat on his bed, glancing around the room.
Haku looked up, giving him a small smile before looking back down to finish cleaning the kunai in his lap.
Kakashi wanted to go back so bad, and would leap at the chance to return, but what about Haku? The boy was dead in that world, but could he go back? He had come to truly love Haku over the past few months and did not want to leave him behind.
Sitting back on his hands, Kakashi simply watched Haku work, deft hands skillfully and carefully polishing and honing the weapon into razor sharpness.
Kakashi just didn’t know what to do.
