The banquet hall was the largest, most exquisite one in town. Numerous tables had been set around the edges of a dance floor, and there was a bar in the corner for anyone who had both a craving for alcohol and money to spend on it.

Each table seats eight, is covered with a white tablecloth, and has baskets of bread and pitchers of water already there. Each seat also has a name next to it, indicating where each guest is to sit. There's also a menu, though it only has three entrees; prime rib, crab-stuffed flounder, and a vegetable dish. For those who want other food, a series of tables is lined up against the wall, holding a salad bowl, fruit, cheese and crackers, and pasta.

The wedding party's table is up at the other end of the hall. During mealtime, Simon can be found sitting there, eating his meal. Afterwards, though, he will be walking around the room, mingling.

*And as you'd expect, Ennil's the one running the bar. Most of what's available is free, though specialty drinks are still being charged half price.*

So how's it feel to finally be able to tie the knot?

*She's looking very happy amidst it all, soaking in the atmosphere and at the same time dwelling on the nostalgia of a brief time when she was simply a young girl with a fiancee. Good times. Tragically cut short, but still meaningful memories she'd never cast away.*

Duo was about to walk past the bar, but a random impulse made him stop. Despite having spent most of the last 3 years living with soldiers, he had never actually tried more than a sip or two of alcohol before. Not the type to do things by halves, he approached the bar confidently.

"I think it's time to see what the big deal is with this stuff. What do you recommend for someone who hasn't really drunk much before?"

Well... for you?

*Ennil smiles, getting out a bottle of seltzer and another of water*

Let's start with something on the more basic side. How does a White Wine Spritzer sound?

"Safe. Probably won't mess with my head too much. Boring. At least gimmee something that won't get me laughed at later."

And I'm leaving it at this because hahaha I know nothing about alcoholic beverages puru_gone_wild November 16 2010, 00:41:56 UTC
... Well, if you don't want your masculinity questioned...

*A short while later Ennil whips up a nice, much more manly beginner drink for Duo. He better take it slow though, just to be safe.*

AND YET YOU PLAY A BARTENDER!? duo_death_god November 16 2010, 00:48:41 UTC
"Excellent, my manliness is protected. I'm gonna take this and go talk to men about manly things like chopping down trees and wrestling bears. Thanks!"

Yeah, he seems to know he sounds kind of silly, but he's off to mingle.

Simon handed over his champagne glass to be refilled.

"Right now? I'm happier than I've ever been," he responded. "But I don't think I'll be able to give you a real answer for a couple months."

*Ennil gives the lucky man his refill.*

Fair enough. I'd tell you to enjoy the day, but you seem to have a good understanding of that anyways.

[Rai takes a seat at the bar.]

...you seem pretty cheerful.

Please, it's a wedding and it's more business for me. Now's the perfect time to bring out the cheer.

It's still not as big as my brother's wedding, but it really is nice.

...I suppose any weddings I'll have won't be nearly as impressive.

If only because I won't be able to tend the bar for it.

Here... *slides Rai a custom drink made from wed wine, vodka, and schnaps*

Brighten up. Wax nostalgically about other weddings later.

[Rai blinks at that.]

You make it sound like I've already proposed.
