Saw Matchstick Men tonight (it is good to have friends who can get free passes to sneak previews). Despite having Nicholas Cage in it, it was actually pretty funny at times. Even more amazing, Cage himself was funny. The man still can't act, and something about his face makes me want to punch it, but at least he can do comedy well. Great soundtrack, too, with tons of Sinatra, which will always improve my opinion of a flick.
That said... GOOD FUCKING LORD, this movie wasbad! The "surprise" was given away in the first half hour or so, and that just made the rest of movie, despite the funny bits, really drag on. And don't get me started on the cutesy bits... ugh. Still, I could live with all of this and give the movie a neutral rating had the last 10 minutes been left off. If you do see this flick, you'll see what I mean.
