Went on a trip to Boston to harden my ever-growing knowledge of all things Redhat related. Pending the scores of the test I took on friday, I should be certified in Satellite Server Deployment and Virtualization. After quite literally falling asleep with the training book on my face, I'm happy to say that I believe I passed quite well considering I knew how to do everything the 5 hour test threw at me. But evidently Redhat now makes you wait something like a week and change before giving you the results of the test, so I guess I'll be in the dark until then.
Took today off to clear a few time-sensitive to-do items off my plate all so we can finally finally FINALLY close on our house. We meet at 2pm today, and apparently sign more things than I've ever signed before in one sitting. Money gets thrown around quite liberally in this lawyer-filled room, but at the end of it all I will have the keys to our brand new house! So as of this morning I've: cleared up the weird confusion with my car payments, started an account with Suffolk Water Authority (I can't wait to taste some of that incredible chlorine-infested suffolk water), gotten on board with National Grid so we'll have gas going to the house without any interruption, gotten LIPA to transfer ownership of our account the day after the seller leaves so we'll have electricity without interruption, and finally gotten Cablevision to hook us up with TV/Internet/Phone service. So tonight we'll be frolicking like idiots around our brand new house knowing that finally this legal bullshit and red tape is OVER! To celebrate, Marisa and I are going out for breakfast at the Dix Hills diner -- where your breakfast plate is bigger than a small dog. Tastier too.
Which leads me to the next bullet point -- who wants to help me move?! This saturday is our big move day. I've rented a 17' Uhaul at 10am and whoever comes to help out gets free lunch and my undying love for all eternity. Also I promise this will be the last time we move out for quite some time.
And B-man, i got your message about the party on the 25th -- I will try to make it but seeing as that's our moving date that night might be a bit hectic. Don't get upset if i can't come but I will definitely try.
ALSO -- I forgot to mention. The previous seller is giving us their massage chair for free. FREE. Just giving it to us! They called it an early wedding present because they overheard that I thought it was awesome that they have a massage chair. Jesus christ, this isn't one of those gimmick-y ones either, this is one of those leather chairs you see at Sharper Image that everyone sits in and talks about how awesome it is, then they look at the price tag and laugh because who buys one of those for that much? Well apparently the previous owner did. And tonight I'm giving myself a massage.
