Throw away page. 27-28/10/2007

Today’s page is yours

Take it and burn it

Take it and rape it

Take it and cut it up and sell it shorter than it is

This is the first time I have noticed a full moon in the north

This fish is a long way up-side-down

I want to thank you for the best of memories

That softest kiss, that face of coy disbelief

Today’s page I will throw away

It is not set free,

It is a bleeding sparrow with its wings torn from its body

It is what I cannot bear to read

Goodbye, I guess, in a coming Autumn air

Thick armor blocks the thought from my head

I want to drown in your dream, but there’s a heavy hand on my shoulder

I will not even glance these full sails when I finally turn from your sight.

Today is no page

And today’s words are smoke and injustice

No such light will grasp this moment

Incinerate its porcelain hands

Let it die painfully, like its killing me

You are one of a deepest pool

I could get lost in you forever

I hope you find these words I have burned

I hope you find them by accident and cry for the things I couldn’t tell you

That I could only say in my eyes that night.
