Oddly, another place I often see this snot comet phenomenon is while sitting in the window seat of an airplane. Next time you take flight take a look around the wall near the window, play connect the snot if you dare! Not that I am a frequent flier but that makes it all the more interesting because in the dozen flights I have taken I am confident in saying that I have seen this 80% of the time. The real mystery is that not once have I seen a snot nose brat put a crusty booger near the window nor have I seen the lap top laden business man dig for his green treasure. Another place to look (if you dare) is under tables in places like restaurants and libraries. Along with the standard chewing gum is also a decent amount of "nose gold".
Not that I spend much time under tables in public spaces. Ahem.
