An update? Pshaw!
Sitting relatively comfortably in my CR apartment, paying 1/3 of what I paid for my closet last year in Milwaukee. I'm working for the government this summer, 6th District of Iowa Dept. of Corrections to be more specific, working on community improvement/prison re-entry initiatives geared at making Cedar Rapids one hunky dory town to be in. The job could be better, but I get to stay around here with folks I know, play in the local summer hockey league, and learn more about good old Iowa. Funny work story, a guy came by the parole office today looking for a travel permit because he just got out of jail yesterday. Lo and behold that evening as I'm leaving for my hockey game I see him walking out of my apartment complex with the people who live above me. Joy :P.
My weekends are pretty much free now, so if anyone wants to hang I can probably do so provided its not a time when I have to run back to Chicago.
Congrats to the newly weds, sorry I couldn't make it out to Wyoming but my boss wasn't letting me skip my first week of work and the required orientation sessions to make the trip out. Hopefully I'll be able to make it out for one of the upcoming festivities.
