Update time, since I actually have a minute to do so!

This week has been both good and busy. The weekend was wonderful, since I got to spend it with Rudy, and his roommate was gone for the weekend so we had the room to ourselves, which was nice. He cooked fettuccine alfredo from scratch for us for dinner on Valentine's Day and I attempted to bake brownies for dessert, but didn't end up succeeding until the next day. It was okay, they were still delicious. :)

In all, Rudy and I had a pretty relaxing Valentine's Day. We mostly sat around and we even took an afternoon nap together that day. We watched 28 Days Later that night, which was interesting and that's about all I have to say about it.

This week has also been busy because I've actually had work! I'm staying in the city right now so I can work three eight-hour shifts at the same child development center I worked at last week; they asked me to come in this week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7-3 each day. Super early, yes, but my friend Alex is being gracious and letting me stay at his place in the city even while he's moving out of it, and that way I just have to get up at 6:15 (yes, still too early) to go to work. It's just tough to turn down any work at all right now, so I'm doing what I can. I don't have a shift yet for Friday, but I might not mind taking Friday off since these three days are proving to be rather tiring. Today was more so than yesterday; the kids seemed extra busy and messy, and one kid threw up, and they didn't go to sleep during nap time as well as they did yesterday. The upside to work today was that I thought to bring a book along with me to read during their nap. They take about a two-hour nap, and my break time is during their outside play time, so since I really have nothing to do but "supervise" them during nap time (which consists of making sure no kids get up for any reason other than to go to the bathroom, as well as helping kids fall back asleep if they wake up) I figured I'd use the time to read. I started on Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein, a book recommended by Rudy, and it's proving to be very engaging so far. :) It's nice to have some time to do actual reading for pleasure rather than for school... it's odd but nice.

Not much else is new. Just trying to figure out the best way to get as much work as possible and live in the area without having to drive really long distances all the time. I applied for a sub position in the Santa Clara district, figuring at least since it's sub work I could just pick up shifts down there if I'm staying in Los Altos and pick up shifts in SF when I can't get shifts down there. We'll see. Anywho, I'm off to do other internet stuffs.

yay, children, reading, work, friends, baking, food, sleep, photos, jobs, valentine's day, books, rudy
