I'm doing a project for my linguistics class, and I am required to interview people. I'm kind of confused actually about the number of people I need information from (it could be anywhere between 3,4 and 7) but in any case, I'd like to see what you guys have to say. So, if you wouldn't mind, please answer the following in a comment (comments are screened to keep this scientific):
Part I
1. Please provide five synonyms for the word "very". Try to do this off the top of your head, without using a thesaurus, and don't worry if the words you come up with are not actual "words"; it's okay if they're slang.
2. What is your name, and how old are you?
3. In what town did you spend most of your junior high and high school years?
4. In what county did you spend most of your junior high and high school years?
5. In what zipcode did you spend most of your junior high and high school years?
6. What town do you currently reside in?
Part II
Read each of the following sentences (#1-#6 mean the same thing, and #7-#12 mean the same thing) and please write next to each number, one of the following marks to indicate your language use.
** = I would definitely say it this way sometimes.
* = I would probably say it this way sometimes..
? = I might say it this way.
X = I doubt I'd ever say it this way.
XX = I would never say it this way!
