I guess it's time for an update, huh?
My 4th of July was overall good. I went with Noah to Cayucos, and we met up with his mom and sister there, and watched a bit of the parade they had going on that morning. After that, he and I walked on the beach and looked at the sand sculptures people had made for a competition. They were pretty nifty... I got excited when I saw a SNAIL one... but I kinda wish they'd done a more detailled job on it. It didn't even have a spiral in its shell. Oh well, I was happy to see a snail. :D
Here are pictures:
After we saw those, we headed over to someone's house for a barbecue. I didn't know who the people were whose house it was, but they were friendly. I met a LOT of people that day, that's for sure. We had burgers and hung out for awhile. I saw a pretty flower and took pictures of it, and we were all sitting around watching Noah's sister's baby girl be adorable for awhile. Noah's dad and some other guys got out their instruments and started playing some bluegrass tunes, which I enjoyed.
After awhile Noah and I got bored so we headed over to where some of his friends were at a mobile home park, and I met more people. After not too long, some of us went over to someone else's house who was having a barbecue, and I met even MORE people. Everyone seemed cool, though, and it was interesting. I didn't eat much since I'd already had a burger at the other house.
Noah, his friend Josh, Josh's girlfriend Hannah and I all left after a little while and headed off to the top of a hill in Cayucos, where we met up with other friends of theirs, who had brought four dirt bikes up there. The hill was very windy and cold, and it got foggy after not too long. Josh, Ernie, Rochelle and someone else (I don't remember who) were going on their dirt bikes, and the rest of us were just chilling (literally) in the Chevy Blazer which had the top off, so we were under blankets and pretty much freezing. Neither Noah or I were enjoying ourselves, so after not too long we left, cos we knew it would only get worse as the sun set, and our original plan had been to watch fireworks from that hill... which obviously wasn't going to happen.
Noah and I went down to the beach, and it was still kinda cold, but much more tolerable than it had been on top of that hill. We sat ourselves down against a wall and chatted for quite awhile, which was nice. It was good to clear some things up with him, and we established the fact that neither of us have expectations of anything more than friendship with one another, which is good. It was good to talk and get to know him more.
After not too long we were starting to shiver again, though, and at about 9:15 the fireworks started, but alas, it was way too foggy, and they just were not nearly as wonderful as they should have been. It was like coloured fog. This was as good as it got:
So he and I left after about five minutes of lame fireworks in the fog, and met up with his friends, who had gone to yet another person's house to hang out. I tried a beer that I actually LIKED, which I was surprised about, and I drank the whole bottle - it was Pacifico. We played a Bible Challenge game that made me feel like a heathen who should read her Bible more, haha. And we sat around and talked for awhile, about the Bible, etc. It was cool to figure out that his friends were mostly Christians.
He and I headed back to Paso around 11:00, since I had to work Thursday morning at 8:15. And that was pretty much it... 4th of July 2007. w00t.
