The meteor shower was so beautiful. I usually don't get to see things like that, I'm usually in the middle of a show or some sort of promotional appearance during the evenings, and then I have to head straight to bed to be up for morning practice. This was so incredibly beautiful. I can't even describe it.

You've never been to a birthday party? Or any party?

I've been to parties before! Thousands of them! Just not birthday parties, that's all!

I've never really been to any myself. Why no birthday parties?

I was just always too busy. Also, when you travel around as much as I did, it makes it hard to make friends, especially when most of your peers are so competitive.

What did you travel around doing? I get the performance part, but what did you do?

[spinningdiabolo]

Oh, I worked for the circus. Mostly contractual engagements and short featured shows. It takes up a lot more time than people usually think.

That's neat, did you travel a lot then?

[spinningdiabolo]

All the time. I really enjoyed that part of it all, anyway. Even if a lot of us are competitive divas, you meet some really interesting people that way. Plus there are so many beautiful places around the world!

I think I miss that more than I do my parents, actually. I do feel bad about that.

That must have been fun in a way then, to see so many different places.

Do you not get along well with them?

It's not that. I just never see them.
