"That Weird Guy? Foo-Yo-Yo? He's Going To Give Me Nightmares."

Mar 24, 2010 17:10

Man. So I had this dream a few nights ago that was this crazy mix of Metal Gear, fishman!fic, and AVPM. I don't remember the exact details, except for the fact that I was the fishman/Snake, and someone gave me blueberry pie. Less exciting was the fact that night before last I hardly slept because I had a nightmare that I was in the zombie apocalypse, a la Left 4 Dead 2. Go figure.

I'm assuming it's a good thing when Lydia says (in reference to trying to put her animal bracelets away), "Argh, it won't go in the hole," and the ENTIRE table responds IN UNISON with "that's what she said." Good job, guys. It also made my day when we were talking about Native Son (and the lousy assignment that's coming up), and the subject of Bigger being a crazy-ass came up. Elena responds with, "Oh, I kind of feel bad for him. I mean, he's probably thinking that, 'killing people might make them like you, but it doesn't. It just makes people dead.'" I swear to God I almost died laughing. Thank you Elena, thank you AVPM.

Guess what else has been going through my head at all hours? "PROMPROMPROMPROMPROMPROMPROM PROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM~!" I don't know why, really. I mean, I'm not going with anyone. (To be honest, I'll probably say no even if someone asks, because then I'm going to feel obligated to babysit them all night and who wants to do that?) But I don't know, I just want to look pretty and go hang out with friends and have a good time. I'm going to go over to Paige's at some point, and we're going to sift through Seventeen magazines and figure out how we're going to do our hair. Mum insists on me getting the 'prom special' at the salon, so I have to bring them a picture of what I want. Also I have to figure out the makeup thing. Then I need shoes (hopefully cheap ones?) and a purse, too. You know what kind of sucks, though? To order my dress (<3333333333) we have to get it expedited, because otherwise it wouldn't get here until May 28th. Seriously, are they making the whole thing by hand or something? Anyway, I have to get it altered, too, because I'm a tiny person.

As a side note, I have to keep telling myself that it's perfectly healthy to constantly check the Prom Facebook group, in the chance that someone else has posted a dress pic. ("Ooh, that one is so pretty!" "Aiee, that's ugly.") What's up with weird prints being so popular, anyway?

I want to change the name of my journal. Because frankly, I'm leaving behind alot of fandoms. XDDD I'm going to change it temporarily, I think, until I come up with something better. But for now I'll let myself laugh. =D XD <3

Hey guess what, Kojima is bigger than any troll you'll ever find on the Encyclopedia Dramatica! This is not new and if you don't know this then clearly you haven't been paying attention! When you think of war games, you think of hulking men with guns and death metal playing in the back. Not tiny anime-eyed blond girls in non-revealing schoolgirl uniforms, singing j-pop songs about peace while surrounded by sparkles and butterflies. THAT IS WHAT THIS IS. To be honest, I was actually expecting BB and Miller to start dancing, and they almost did, but then they didn't. I also noticed that BB is suddenly pretty hot, though I think that's just the magic that Kojima endowed him with talking there. (Okay, yes he is. In the words of Captain Hammer, "not my usual, but nice.") Also, I posted on zarla  's LJ that something went down before this video was finished, like this:

"I believe this is what happened: the whole thing was done and Kojima was just looking over it one more time with his whole crew. He finished with it, furrowed his brow, and when asked what was wrong he replied, "Her clothes need to disappear."
"I'm sorry, what?"
"I said, her clothes need to disappear."
"But Kojima, there's no reason-"
"LACY BRA. DO IT."
"YESSIR."
"AND ADD MORE SPARKLES."

Paz has a giant crush on BB, which I find adorable. More about Peace Walker later.

I watched Ponyo with Mum! It wasn't my favorite of all of Miyazaki's work, though. I guess I probably would have liked it more if I had watched the sub, because the dialog seemed really disjointed and weird. Most of it was either the character thinking aloud to clue in the audience, or just talking for the sake of making noise. Also Ponyo's voice got fairly grating at times, though I attribute that mostly to the fact that Miley Cyrus' hooker-sister somehow got the part. But that aside. In terms of voices I loved, Liam Neeson is pretty much just one of the coolest dudes ever, and Tiny Fey is just... Well, she's Tina Fey, duh! The art was fantastic, as usual, and the storyline was adorable and cute and lovely and all things Miyazaki. Granted, it was much simpler and more geared towards children than Spirited Away or Howl, but it was really delightful in that Totoro-sense. (And I really like Fujimoto, with his underwater moped. Mum says he looks stoned.) --> Speaking of Howl's Moving Castle, btw:

ELENA I'M SORRY, BUT CHRISTIAN BALE'S VOICE MAKES HOWL JUST THAT MUCH YUMMIER.

I need to take the two packs of gum out of backpack, because now my earphones smell like weird mint.
EDIT: Um, I just realized that Sosuke's voice actor was the younger brother of the Jonas bros.? I thought he did a good job, but it's sort of pissing me off that just because Disney has something dubbed means that they can star-stud it and automatically make it good. Because they can't. Okay, Disney is a jerk, I'm going to stop thinking about it.
