Granted, I don't feel well today, which affects my usually sunny disposition and significantly shortens my patience. However.
I got irritated when I saw a couple of months ago that Mulder and Scully are broken up in the new X-Files episodes--fuck you, Chris Carter.
The panel at the Pittsburgh convention was generally free of spoilers (thank you, David and Mitch) though it was said that they're "reconciled" by the end of the arc. My hackles lowered a little bit.
And now, in the flood of things coming out of NYCC (most amusingly the photo of David looking adorable with his head on Mitch's shoulder, and Gillian's tweet clearly meant to rile up the real-person 'shippers), is Carter's statement "they had difficulties."
Fuck you, Chris Carter.
See, a huge part of the charm of the Mulder/Scully relationship is that despite being completely opposite in belief, thought, and philosophy, they made it work fantastically, first professionally and then personally. THAT'S THE FUCKING POINT.
It's entirely possible that it'll be presented in the new series in a way that I completely accept, but now, in the middle of season 9, I'm not feeling overly charitable.
