Background Check: Born as the eldest son of Uchiha Fugaku and Mikoto, Itachi was set for life. He was brought up in business society, their family being one of the prestigious names in the business world. Never mind the few illicit matters they had on the side. No one really knew about that anyways. What mattered was that Itachi and his brother, Sasuke were well provided for. Education, and so forth.
It came crashing down when at the age of thirteen, Itachi's parents were killed, leaving both him and Sasuke orphaned. Police reports have Itachi listed as one of the suspects, Itachi being the one that found them, having no alibi for where he had been prior to returning home that evening. They couldn't put anything against him, there being no evidence that led to him, so the case was filed away after a year it was labeled as a cold case.
Itachi was eventually sent to live with his uncle, who had offered to take the boy in. Sasuke on the other hand, was sent into foster care, separating the brothers for a while, much to Itachi's displeasure.
Itachi's uncle provided the best he could for Itachi, but the boy seemed changed by the events of his parents death. He seemed uninterested in everything. From school, to his training. His uncle's son, Tobi, who also lived in the house, enjoyed pestering his cousin to no end.
About this time (aged around fifteen or sixteen) Itachi started making 'friends'. They were the kids that had bad rap sheets. Just general thugs. He would hang around with them, the quiet kid, always in the back, never talking much. He was also the groups 'sponsor', providing what ever funding was needed for various needs, though he never seemed to do anything to dirty his own hands, so to speak. He usually only acted like a messenger, due how he spoke, and his way with words.
There was an instance where on of the kids in Itachi's group off and shot another kid for stealing from their meth production (just one of the illicit things going on in their group) staining the walls of the house they worked out of, causing them to move. They hired an arsonist to take care of the building, a good name caught on the underground by one of the group leaders. Deidara was called, and he gave them a place where to meet him. The group sent Itachi.
One one of his occasional appearances in his 'home', he was cornered by his cousin, who demanded Itachi to allow him to come with. Not wanting his cousin to draw attention to what he was doing, he allowed Tobi to come with him. They met with Deidara, and gave him the details of the job, giving him not only money for supplies, but also generous compensation (a grand total of $3000).
Itachi's group hired Deidara for a few more jobs, a few of which Tobi (who had taken a liking to the blond) went with him on. The last job was messed up, and they were caught, being sent off to Camp Green Lake, his cousin with the charge of 'Accessory to Arson'.
About a month later, Sasuke was moved to a foster home within the same city as Itachi. He knew, and secretly kept an eye on his brother. Knowing most of who was who, Itachi didn't want his brother getting hurt because he had a fall out with the wrong person. Something that (with Sasuke's attitude) happened. Sasuke mouthed off to the wrong person, who only got one hit in on the younger Uchiha. Itachi snapped (though statements from witnesses state that Itachi's face remained straight the whole time) and beat the man until he could no longer stand. By this time people literally had to pull him off the guy, sometime after the police showed up, and took Itachi in.
Personality Profile:
Itachi is a very quiet person. Reserved, and level-headed. He doesn't let anyone get to close, and even those he might consider his friends are always kept at an arms length. He is always calm, never letting his emotions float to the surface, hiding them behind a perfect mask.
He is naturally perceptive. He can look at a person and instantly tell if they're lying to him. Along with this, his is also very easily able to deceive. He knows the fundamentals in lying. knows how to spot them, and thus has eliminated them in himself.
Itachi is fiercely protective of his brother (if the reason he got arrested is any indication) and it seems to be the only thing Itachi cares about.
Physical Description: For a boy his age, he's rather small. Only standing about five foot five, weighing just a little over one hundred and ten pounds. His frame is almost feminine, giving him the appearance that he is harmless.
His hair is worn long, bangs framing his face, hair often pulled back in some way. Amongst the silvery-black locks there is a single strip of red, braided tightly, and tied off at the end. It's a stark contrast to the rest of his hair, and even his personality.
One of the most notable things about Itachi, are his eyes. At night, or simply where there is not enough light to reach his eyes, they're a dark, deep obsidian. Though when in the sun, or the light hits them just right, they appear to be a fiery shade of crimson. No one can tell you exactly what color they really are, onyx or crimson. It just depends on the lighting.
