Excellent job at imagining how the tale would be mutilated in the history books, and an even better job at writing Toph and Sokka (I love Toph's dry humor and Sokka's tiptoeing between wisdom and comedy in the series, and you managed to achieve both here, too)!

That is brilliant, and so, so true. I love the characterization and just the whole idea. This line especially cracked me up:

the kid playing Aang was nothing more than some snot-nosed brat with an arrow pasted on his head, threatening to beat all the other kids in the play up with his staff and wailing backstage about how the play could have been so much better if the Avatar had gotten to fight a dragon.
