Hot Dog

Jun 30, 2008 08:07

According to all the books we reviewed, Pugs do not do well in the heat, their scrunched faces make it harder to breathe, traditionally pugs only breathe through their noses.  Yesterday,
busterpug  kept panting like crazy and would lie on his side while his cheast heaved with breath.

So, we did what any rational person would do. We filled up the master bath with cool water and put the dog in.

Surprsingly...he just hung out. In the past when he has gotten wet (sprinkler, jumped in the shower, etc.) he immediately scurries away. In the tub,
busterpug  stopped panting and just chilled out.

However, once we drained the tub and he shook himself down he got so excited that he ran upstairs and downstairs like a crazy dog...he did it so much that he overheated himself and started panting like crazy again.
