So now we have 6 cats

My mom, brother and I are ridiculously compassionate toward cats. For one, I am concerned about the millions of homeless cats that end up just being put to sleep or starve/freeze/whatnot after being abandoned. I know there isn't much I can do, but we are doing what we can to help. PEOPLE NEED TO FIX THEIR ANIMALS, EVEN IF THEY LIVE INDOORS. I have always known this is super important because we already have way too many cats, but after randomly lurking on the internets I found A SHITTON. OF GOOD REASONS.

"Every shelter in the region, in fact every shelter in the country, is filled to overflowing with kittens and cats looking for homes. Every shelter is doing everything in its power to find good homes, but the numbers are just  too high. Cats' birthrates are 12 times the human rate, and that results in an unwelcome surplus. Thousands will be killed."

We already had four cats. Each one had been rescued or given to us by somebody who decided they couldn't handle having a cat and almost dumped the cat off in the middle of the nowhere.

Our newest members of the family are the result of a homeless man who decided to keep all of his cats in storage. Yes, storage. The storage owner found them, but since she was allergic she had to keep them on her porch in cages. We live down the street and noticed these cats had been in cages for weeks so of course my mom had to ask what's up. How could we not have done anything? So now the mom, dad, and one sibling are left.  I really wish we could take them all, but nine cats? ....

The girl we brought home, Sophie, is a doll. She is so lovable and you can tell she is happy to have a home. She is still very hostile around our other animals though. xD; I'm not too pleased with the other one. He hisses at us and scratches us when we try to pet him. :[ I'm really disappointed we didn't take the one that I was petting, he/she was a real sweetheart. We just recently brought him home though, so maybe he just needs more time. Here is Sophie:
