Club Risqué, Hollywood, Los Angeles, Thursday Night

Feb 19, 2015 05:50

That morning, under the guise of calling her family to wish them a Happy Lunar New Year, Kathy had asked her sister, Sarah, about all-ages clubs in LA. After Sarah had spent ten minutes explaining that no one over the age of fifteen went to an all-ages club gawd, sis, seriously? Kathy'd asked if she knew about any dance clubs that weren't too keen ( Read more... )

There's drinking! Dancing! Making out with strangers!

For whatever mischief a group of young, hot, hopped up on sex pollen Fandomites can come up with!

Sooo, Kathy had never gone clubbing. Ever. But the salesgirl that had sold her the dress she'd worn to the Valentine's Day dance had managed to send her home with several different possibilities. One of those possibilities had been the little black dress she was wearing tonight.

That was club-appropriate, right?

Why didn't clubs come with textbooks? She could have studied!

Spark had a pretty good feeling about tonight. After all, he was the one gay guy in a pack of ladies, which meant that he was the only one playing his own particular demographic in the group. And really, after the horrible way Nar Shaddaa had worked out for him earlier in the week, he was about ready for a night out to go right for a change.

There were a few guys he had an eye on already, just a few steps in through the front door. Now the trick was finding one who had their eye on him in turn.

He was pretty sure he was in the right place for that.

Alana eyed the dance floor, eyed her pretty-but-impractical shoes, and decided she needed a drink before she tried to dance in them in front of people.

Not that alcohol improved coordination, but she'd never been the best at logic that way.

She went over to the bar and leaned toward a cute college guy, willing him to be the type to buy drinks for pretty girls. That type had never been exactly scarce, in her experience.

For someone as spazzy as Minako tended to be, she was surprisingly graceful and talented on the dance floor. Friendly, too. Boys, girls, she'd dance with everyone and anyone tonight.

Although she had two admirers in particular - a guy with long, blond hair and another guy with short purple-spiked hair. And Minako being Minako, well, she was doing her best to dance with both of them, sometimes at the same time. She liked them both, after all!

Mara wasn't making out with strangers, but she was definitely letting a few of them buy her drinks.

She suffered through any number of terrible questions about matching draperies first, which had taken her a few minutes to properly understand. Once she did, they didn't get to buy her drinks. They had very trod-upon toes and an earful of falsely-sincere apologies.

At some point in the evening, Kathy was going to find her and point. "We need to dance together. Dancer." She pointed to herself. "Gymnast. Let's go out there and make everyone else jealous as what we can do."

Mara grinned. "You just want to see if I can still balance in my shoes."

"Well, can you?" Kathy asked. "I mean, I still can."

And she hopped on one foot a few times to prove it. Her drink sloshed a little down her arm, but the balancing gave her no trouble at all.

Yay, super-agility!

"I've danced a lot in these shoes," Mara said, still smiling. "Watch the drink. You don't want to be sticky..."

"Now I know we're free of the island's influence," Kathy said. "Neither my first nor second thoughts about that were dirty!"

Pollinated or not, she was still licking the soda off her arm, causing several of the guys near them to hoot and cheer.

Mara rolled her eyes. "Grow up," she said to them, slipping closer to Kathy and starting to dance.

And Kathy was determined to make it good, because pollen, pride, and to really show those Neanderthals what they were missing while making stupid comments.

"Hate guys like that," she said.

Well, there might not be pollen, but Mara could respect good work when she saw it. She fell immediately into step with her, close in and mirroring Kathy exactly.

This was very loud! And so many lights! And there were a lot of people. And a lot of them were pretty. So Jalian was going to move with the music the way she'd learned people here did, as closely to as many of them as possible.
