hail and health...
hm, three days ago i officially joined the cult that is St.FX when i got the coveted x-ring. i was a little dubious going into the ceremony, because all of my friends were super excited, and i wasn't all that hyped. even when i went to try on the ring before the ceremony i didn't feel particularly enthusiastic.
however once i got the ring after an arduous two hours in the chapel (hearing weird religious junk, and the short guy from Canada AM speak, and the creepiest song ever composed) i got teh ring and stepped outside. immediately i was swarmed by friends, and everyone was super happy. the party we had that night, as well as the celebration held at the SUB was amazing. it can honestly say without hesitation that it was best night i've had in recent memory.
i suppose it might be difficult for people who don't go here to understand, because it really is a weird cultish thing (because every school has a class ring, but we are the only ones who seem to care). but it really was a special night, even for a cynical bum such as myself. in every picture we took everyone looked gorgeous, even I managed to pull off some photogenic shots (which is a feat considering i take the worst photos ever).
we sang and danced around like fools until 4 or 5 in the morning, managed to consume copious amounts of alcohol but still remain happy and arsehole free (which is a feat when you have large groups of very drunk people).
i had always joked that i would never care about the x-ring thing. it turns out i was wrong. that i think has been one of the better surprises i've ever gotten. end gush.
okay on a less weinery note, i had an exam today (1st of four), i think i did pretty well considering it is my worst class. i have now just a take-home and two more to accomplish but the cruel (or maybe not) fates have spread them out so i dont finish till the 17th. that blows quite frankly but oh well (especially since some girl told me she was done today). also on a sad note i do have to spend the majority of my break making up massive lost ground on my thesis paper if i ever hope to get the stupid thing done, as well as post grad/BEd apps.
but never fear i will have sometime to make it down, i know everyone is craving their nick fix (i can feel it) soo i would be a weasel not to oblige. Cheers, Nick.
