i just have to agree with you about that! Tegoshi is not a bad person - no one is meant to be bad since they were born - it is just life that drives people onto different paths of life. In my opinion, Tegoshi is one of the best example for that quote. He debuted shortly after joining JE and was hardly known by either long-time JE fans and newcomers. If you pay careful attention, you will see that he didn't use to have as much attention as he does right now; he was overwhelmed by those Yamapi, Kusano, Uchi Hiroki etc. As said in many interviews, tegoshi adored them; he wanted to be one of them! But, you see, it's not possible to say "oh i'm gonna be famous" and get what you want the next day straight away! It's all about the will and the effort one gives out to achieve such goals. I bet Tegoshi understood that very clearly. Many people say Tegoshi before and after NEWS' hiatus are two completely different people, that he looks much more mature and has more of a personality than the previous "him" - by which I mean some such as being erotic and cute :P yeah i'm pretty sure one way or another tegoshi's fans like that about him. But so, yes, now he has stood out, and is at the peak of almost anything. Would you think that the 'he' right now is the true one, or the 'previous he' is the one Tegoshi actually is? My answer is, we never know unless we have a sit-down talk with him. Yet, my theories are much further than that. If you consider him being the youngest, the one with less experience, the one who hates to lose, you will see: he has no choice but to 'create' a new him to fit in this entertainment world. It's not easy at all, all of us know that, but for Tegoshi to have accomplished that much, it's damn amazing! (I can guarantee that 'damn' is the last bad word I'm putting into this reply!) So the 'he' right now is definitely the 'he' he wants us to see. As fans I think we should all respect and escape any skepticism. After all, him being an idol is to give us pleasure and joy; as long as he can do it, he does a good job. There is no reason for us to search deeply into who he is. Let's respect him, and love him the way he chooses to be. He is not going to let us down, that's the least thing i can say right now :)
btw, there was a point when i disliked him because I thought he was faking too much - of course such things happen now and then - but after talking with you guys and thinking deeply about it, I think I have changed my opinions a bit now. Tegoshi is still one of the 6 dorks I have chosen to love, isn't he? :)
we all know about his debut and so on, wasn't easy on him i can imagine. he is smart and knows what to do to get what he wants and in my eyes he deserves all of it.
agree also with that he probably worked hard for what he got now, its impressive to see how he grew and all, but to me sensing from the start it was meant to be, that he became who he is now. I mean his debut was pretty impressive, he literally did 'nothing' so it seemed to everyone and i can imagine he was pretty surprised too but he managed to keep it together and work for it even more, achieving more than he maybe has dreamt of that time (although i can imagine his dreams being really high already back then, he wanted to be internationally famous from the start huh? hehe..)
right right, i should stop talking about it already because we won't have something like 'an answer' which I think we don't even need ^~^
I just want everyone to respect and love him too. Everything he does and gives us is more than enough and he must be happy with it too or else he wouldn't be doing what he does, right?
we can't do anything besides supporting his decisions, and I hope everyone will because he is not 'fake' just the person he wants to be.
