[Translation] Various bits from January magazines
It's been a busy December, I'm behind with translations so I'm doing little summaries with funniest bits of the old magazine~ ><
Duet 01.2014
Highlights of 2013
Group: The 10th anniversary, the live in Tokyo Dome, the album "NEWS"
Individual: Koyama's TV project in Amazon, Shige's "Senkou Scramble", Massu's everlasting passion for fashion, and Tegoshi hit a new record of number of abroad trips (around 10 between work and private life).
What would you like to give as Xmas present to the members?
M: Eh...I would give a lot of goldfishes to Shige. As many as I can win in a matsuri!
T: Ah, I want to buy him an Axolotl!
S: Well, after all they're easy to keep...
T: But if you hold an Axolotl on your hand it might burn your skin, be careful!
S: Eh? How come you know so much about them?
T: My friend's got one, it's so cute! Shige, try to imitate an Axolotl! I will try too. Ok? Ready, go! *puts his hands on the side of the face and wiggles the fingers*
S: ... *imitates Tegoshi*
T: You're doing it wrong! *wiggles*
S: Ahahah! Is there even a wrong or a right?
M: Ahahahah!
K: Anyway, a lot of goldfishes for Shige. A soccer ball for Tegoshi?
M: A lot.
T: I don't need them!
S: A lot of ramen for Koyama.
K: I can't eat all that, it'll get soppy.
T: Ok, a lot of newspapers!
M: A lot of éclairs. Or maybe a lot of eyelids?
All: Ahahahahahah!
K: That's gross! A lot of socks for Massu? What about a lot of skull goods?
M: Ah~ But when Tegoshi used to dress all covered of skull stuff we decided that we couldn't wear anything with skulls on it anymore, didn't we? He's not like that anymore though, and now the one with a skull sticker on his phone is me. *laughs*
T: Ahahahah!
K: I understand you! I'm not so against skulls anymore.
S: Right, Tegoshi's boom for skulls finally ended?
T: I still have some of them though.
M: Whenever I wore something with skulls I felt a little Tegoshi-like. Now it's fine.
K: He's over it.
M: He graduated? Like the Best Jeanist, now Tegoshi's not in the Skull Ranking anymore *laughs*
Myojo 01.2014
Precious objects in the members' houses:
-Koyama has a rare Doraemon pillow, he keeps it in its original box in a cupboard in the living room. He doesn't want to show it because it would ruin the atmosphere of his house, only his toilet is full of Doraemon gadgets. He also keeps a brand new signed copy of "Senko Scramble" in a library of the living room.
-Massu keeps a pair of camouflage pants he got from Imai Tsubasa as his treasure, when he doesn't wear them he always keeps them in a visible spot of his room. He once saw them on Tsubasa and he thought they were very cool, the next day Tsubasa's manager brought a package to Massu, inside there were the pants nicely washed. He also cherishes a bottle of wine he got from Yamashita Tatsuro for his birthday a year ago. He still has a wasabi keychain from Ninomiya, he wonders if it's ok to throw it away though.
-Tegoshi has an expensive L-shaped dark charcoal grey sofa in the living room, he bought it because when he's home he spends most of his time on the sofa. Another treasure is his wine cellar.
-Shige has a lot of paintings in his living room, between them there's a single picture taken by himself, it's a copy of the same photo he gave as present to fans in the 10th anniversary event.

Childhood heroes
Massu: Sentai Heroes and Rangers, he always played to be one of them when he was a kid. His favorites were Red and Black Ranger.
Shige: Kiteretsu of Kiteretsu Daihyakka, because he wanted to become an inventor. His heroes were also SMAP, he always watched them in TV and he was amazed by all the things they could do.
Koyama: Pilots. He wanted to become one because on his first flight he was 5yo and very scared, the pilot looked cool and brave, like a hero, to his eyes. When he started playing baseball his heroes became the players Matsui Hideki, Ichiro and Hara Tatsunori. Right now his hero is the woman that will become his future wife.
Tegoshi: Kamen Raider, Satoshi from Pokémon, the soccer player Ramos Ruy.
What kind of heroes are NEWS?
Massu: "I'm the hero! (lol) Why? Am I wrong? Ahahah... If I have to compare NEWS to Power Rangers I'd surely be the Black one. I'm not always there but I arrive at the right moment to save everybody (lol)"
Shige: "NEWS are always fighting heroes, right? We've been in danger many times, almost defeated, but we never gave up. Everytime you thought we were K.O. we stood up again! I believe in this."
Koyama: "NEWS are the White Heroes. I want us to always look good in white. White is the color of purity and it symbolizes idols. I mean, if somebody who's not an idol wears a white outfit it would look weird. I think we're still ok (lol)"
Tegoshi: "NEWS are the Royal Heroes. Our look and group color follows the rule of principle of Johnny's Entertainment. We want to be like this. We always want to do our best for our fans and we're ready to do anything to please them. When a man grows older he wants to look cool, but I can play cute, the role of a prince, etc. I think it's important for a Johnny's. I will be like this forever."
