10 movies in 1 month - June

Yey! Another month is complete! It's such a long time I'm doing this, I'm kinda surprised and proud of myself! XD

The English patient (3.6) & The dilemma (18.6)

Let's start with these two movies. The English Patient was one of those very famous and old movies that somehow I never watched and I felt like I had to one day. I liked it very much, there's a reason why such movies are so famous and it's because most of times they are good. Like, a good that recently you can hardly find. I admit that for most of the movie I thought "OMG this is Voldemort, it's so weird!" XD Anyway it's a nice and moving love story ><
The dilemma...a confession. When I wrote it here from my list...I couldn't remember what it was about...I enjoyed it, it was a funny, cute movie but it was really average. Average love/comedy story, average characters. Nothing too good to remember. I think it's a good movie to be watched in a boring night but surely it can't be somebody's life's movie XD

Red Riding Hood (4.6) & Beastly (30.6)

THE junk movies of the month. I downloaded them knowing that I wouldn't like them but I couldn't image them to be THAT bad!
Red Riding Hood enters in the "worst movies I watched" list, I couldn't stand it anymore after around 20 minutes. I mean, it's a shame! The story could be a good idea, a remake of the Red Riding Hood tale isn't really common, but still they turned it into a teenager, pathetic love story. The director was the same of Twilight...that's all? :P Really bad, surprisingly I heard of people who liked it though...maybe the problem is me. Don't know, I just wanted to puke everytime they said the word "love" XD
Basically I watched Beastly thinking "Yey I can put it besides Red Riding Hood movie in my review!" XD And unexpectedly it was better than the first, same tale-based plot, same teenager standard, same corny love story. At least I think that the productors of Beastly knew that they weren't working on a masterpiece XD Kudos for Neil Patrick Harris, don't know why he was there but his character was the best :D

Gnomeo & Juliet (7.6) & The sleeping beauty (12.6)

Following the tale's craving I watched those two cartoons :3  Gnomeo & Juliet was bad XD The characters and the idea of a love story between the gnomes statues of two neighbors' gardens were somehow cute. In the Italian dubs they made a mess putting dialects to the characters...that's something I hate and I couldn't enjoy it too much like this ><
I didn't watch The sleeping beauty since...no idea, too much. It wasn't one of my favourite Disney movies when I was little so it's not one of those that I watched thousand times, that's why I felt like watching it again now ^^ Old Disney movies are the best, really. They should follow their examples doing the modern cartoons ><

The hangover (23.6) & The hangover part II (25.6)

Shame on me for not having seen the first time ago! I loved The hangover movies!! So amusing, I laughed so much :D I hope something like that will never happen in my whole life though! I can't really say if I liked more the first or the second one, maybe because I saw them with few days of difference it was like watching the second episode of a serial TV to me XD I liked all the characters, a little less Alan because I don't know...I think that I would simply kill a man like that! XD I totally recommend both the movies with all my heart...oh and there's a monkey in the second! *O* lol

Kick Ass (26.6) & Mr. Beaver(29.6)

Too much expectations are no good. I was waiting for Kick Ass to be available in Italy since a lot of time because the advertisings promised an awesome movie and my friends who saw it were all so excited about it, even Pi watched it! XD It was  nice, good action, some laughters and it was very original but don't know, it didn't live up to the expectations >< I got a little bored in the middle. Anyway if you like action, fighting movies watch it :)
Mr. Beaver is a completely different movies, it's a dramatic story of a depressed man who goes out of his mind and his family. It was interesting and moving >< Mel Gibson may be a little crazy as well lately but he's still a very good actor. Totally recommended.

I take the occasion to also announce that I decided to go on a little fandom break ^^
Maybe some of you already saw it on Twitter but well, I wanted to say it too so that people who don't have my contacts will know that I'm not dead XD Anyway it's just a temporary thing and it's only about fandom so if you want to ask me something or simply chat with me you can find me by mail or FB :)

Love, Giulia <3
