I have two babies - Eliza and Cate - little pieces of Heaven. I am content. When I teach class and look at Katherine, I think of you."
I cannot express how much nor how significant a role this woman has had in nurturing my soul and shaping me into the person I now am. All of this has happened unbeknownst to her. Her intentions were not to form individuals or train them to act in a certain matter. But, her teaching enriched me and lead me to unearth a passion for literature.
Carolyn Eagles is teaching her last year of the commonly-titled class, 'English,' to high school students. It was my delight to be a pupil in her class for three years. This fall, my younger sister is one of her students. I have shared with Katherine how this is beyond any academic class, but rather an experience. I am delighted to share this remarkable individual with Katherine.
This morning, I sent her an email. I needed to let her know that I have had the best intentions, yet been unable to visit and chat with her over the past several months. I would rather send a message by way of the pen, but the urgency of my feelings and the convenience of electronic mail outweighed the postage stamp. I feel more can be conveyed through pen and paper, but I needed to let her know now that she has been on my mind much as of late.
And so, her reply is that above.
