Restriction diet?

Aug 19, 2009 19:04

I'm starting to look into "resetting" diets/ allergy-free eating.

I don't know if I've developed some kind of allergy to something I'm eating but I'm grasping at straws now and willing to give up foods I love for the chance to have a normal day.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have no *known* allergies or intolerances.

Well, you probably want a diet to figure out exactly what it is which is bothering you. If you have a good idea what it is that is bothering you (gluten, lactose, nuts, etc) cut that one thing out for a couple weeks and see if it improves. Then keep cutting things out gradually until you figure out what it is. It's not a quick procedure, but if it's a food intolerance/sensitivity that should help you identify what is bothering you.

If you want an actual "plan" to follow, this one isn't too bad. I did it a little while ago as a "detox" kind of thing. I believe I got this plan from womentowomen.com, where I filled out a questionnaire and they gave me a "free trial" two week plan.

Also, a note, depending on your symptoms, if you have been having gastrointestinal issues for a while, I would suggest seeing a doctor regarding your symptoms as there are other things out there that cause intestinal issues as I have discovered this year.
