Lovely artwork but frankly I'm more interested in the storyline. The only way I'm purchasing is if a certain bleached chap does a cameo or at least gets a mention.

At least she's holding the Scythe:

BUFFY: (re scythe) Do you see this? This may actually help me fight my war. This might be the key to everything. And the reason I'm holding it is because of you. Because of the strength that you gave me last night.

They can have their rings and crosses---I think we got the best memento. The scythe is even featured in Joss's futuristic slayer story FRAY, if I'm not mistaken.

Also, I have a hard time thinking anything as canon if certain characters can't even be mentioned.

Yipee! I can't wait, even though I know Spike won't be in it. I wish the Spike comics that were coming out were interesting to me - but really, pre-soul Spike and badly drawn Spike do nothing for me, so Spike Vs. Dracula and Angel: Old Friends aren't big for me. I loved Angel Spotlight: Illyria, even if the other four in that series have proved to be rather lackluster (which I hope to review soon, in my comic reveiw series, complete with pictures). But this series will have Buffy! And Dawn! And I finally get to see the new artist's take on Buffy! Seems pretty good - a bit too, er, filled out (one of the things I loved about Illyria was that Nikola Scott didn't exaggerate Illyria's physique), but the style is clean and recognizable, a definite plus. Any word on when the first issue is available to the public?

I am not sure when it will be released but I'm sure Joss will let us know.
